Default Connecting your laptop to a monitor.

Do any of you connect your laptop's to a bigger monitor. I'm thinking of getting one beacuse I'm fed up of playing omaha with screens overlapping.

Are all new monitors compatible to do this and what cable's are needed.

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to connect any pc monitor to your laptop using the cable supplied with the monitor. However you may not get any advantage if your laptop isn't capable of either dual screening or running a larger monitor, it depends on how your laptop handles video memory. It may have a fixed amount or it may be capable of borrowing from system RAM, check the specs for your lappy to find out.

You may be better off asking in the tech and gaming forum.

I connect my laptop to my TV (TV acts as the monitor) using a VGA cable. You'd need to look at the back of your laptop to see what options you have available to you.

Hi Steve, I connect my laptop to my large screen TV monitor, the cables that I needed was a data transfer cable similar to the one you would connect a desktop pc to a monitor with (mine is a Belkin) and an audio cable also by Belkin which is a 3.5mm jack to 3.3mm jack. I'm told that some Laptops have different connection and require a HD Cable..

I hope that helps?

Which site do you mostly play on? Remember resizeable tables are due on Boss tomorrow

Will move the thread to Tech - there's a lot of expertise on PL that doesn't visit the Poker section....

Ladbrokes at the mo Gaf. Yes gd news about the resizing of tables on Boss but with Omaha I'd still prefer to have a fullsize table as my eyesight ain't what it used to be.
