Komps the man to ask as its up his street, i stopped converting a while back once i got my Yamada divx player (see other thread)

Mickeys just bought one too, there 50 quid now from amazon inc vat and delivery, for a Medion divx player that is.

Mickeys well chuffed with it, even when he thought the front was full of scratches (till his bird pointed out he hadent removed the protective plastic layer 2 days later) he still wouldent part with it.

Said its the best 50 quid he's ever spent.

See Keem conversions old hat m8, its about time u moved with the times

and when did DVD technology hit Leigh?

Daft cnut. I rememeber him being sad and angry about it

Aye Keem i'll be following suit soon as its the way to go. I aint converted AVI to DVD since before xmas but i'll do my best to remember.

From what i remember you can't just convert directly from AVI to VOB (DVD file). You have to go AVI to MPEG2 (or more if MPEG is on 3 now) I used Main Concept but this was mainly for speed purposes but it seemed to do the trick. Then with your MPEG2 you have to convert to VOB and create .cue's etc.

Sorry i forget all this Keem but get hold of MAINCONCEPT and TMPGENC. Post here if any probs.

With TMPGENC you create your own chapters (thats it, Mainconcept first then convert with TMPGENC to VOB) Make sure you go for full quality.

Just burn it with your fav burning software as a DVD once you have your VOB's.

I'm getting a DVD Burner a week Thursday and will be getting back into converting Keem so i'll have it all sussed again for then.

IMO - waste of time, waste of a DVD..

Just convert to SVCD, DVD will not be better quality from an AVI. Plus you can up the bitrate in TMPEG...

You cheeky bastards. It looked and felt like metal. It was so smooth. I couldn't see no plastic. Don't think Keem was after converting to DVD Komp. Rather, how to make an AVI playable on a standard DVD player. It's easy peasy btw Keem. If you change your mind about the DivX player, give me a shout.
