Anyone else having hotmail problems

Hi guys, is anyone else having problems logging into hotmail over the last two days - or is it just ME! Since wednesday night can't log in using Outlook or directly using the www address.

Please let it not just be me.............

Ive logged into hotmail.com 3 times today without any problems.

msn has had problems with live...I've now downloaded 7.5 and im running that with no problems

Cheers for that lads,

have tried Outlook, mozilla and explorer without any luck - must be some poxy setting that has changed. If there's any experts out there the error msg i'm getting on outlook reads

'Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 12019, Error Number: 0x80004005

Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 12019, Error Number: 0x80004005'

So any suggestions would be greatly received...

I've found this possible solution:
SYMPTOMS

When you try to download e-mail from your Hotmail account, the download may not work, and you may receive the following error message:

Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Proxy Error (Software caused connection to abort)', Port:0, Secure (SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC3F

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the MSN, The Microsoft Network redirect process is not working.



RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue:

1. In Outlook Express, click Accounts on the Tools menu.
2. Click the Mail tab, click the Hotmail account, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Server tab, and then change the HTTP Server URL to the following Web address:

   http://oe.hotmail.com/secure/hmdata

4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

Hi Guys,

thanks for the pointers guys - still no joy! Can't even log in directly to the www.hotmail.com site.

Is this something to do with windows live

I get to the log in screen - enter my address and password

It then goes to a blank screen with a 'http://login.live.com/........' address

and the page freezes with the message on the bottom reading

'Waiting for http://by107fd.bay107.hotmail.msn.com'

Any ideas would be great on this - really have to get into my mail asap - before I think about ditching hotmail after all this drama........

Getting a bit worried now,

installed and ran Ad-Aware and Spybot - found a couple of things and repaired them

Tried logging in to www.hotmail & http://login.live.com

using IE and Mozilla

and it hangs on a blank page

Also can't log into myspace and problems with ticketmaster

Is this a problem with https:// sites

At my wits end on this one so any guidance would be great
