Anti-Virus help needed!! - The Punters Lounge

Just wondering if anybody can recommend a good anti-virus securitiy programme. Ive got the free AVG one at the moment but it runs out in december, also my server keeps disconnecting is this serious or something that happens now and again.. cheers in advance G..

Avast Anti Virus - 4 HOME EDITION

FREE for HOME USE

brilliant - used it for over 2 years - no problems

DAILY UPDATES OF VIRUS DEFINITIONS
plus
FREE SOFTWARE UPDATES

have had Norton and Mcafee - got rid of them both
can't understand anyone paying when there are programs
that are this good for FREE

I'd of said AVG but from what I believe its no longer free come the New Year.
If avast is any good then I'll swap over to them in that case.

Chaps,

AVG Free version 7.1 ceases to be updated from 15 January 2007. You can replace it with a purchased version of AVG 7.5 Professional.

However, you can also replace it with AVG Free 7.5.

So there's no need to move away from AVG if you don't want to, which I certainly don't because I've found it to be an excellent product during the 4+ years I've been using it.

Cheers ColU. Wasn't aware that you can swap to AVG Free 7.5.
In that case, I'll stick with AVG thanks.

I upgraded from 7.1 to 7.5 a couple of weeks ago. There have been some reports of people having problems with 7.5 (see the AVG Forums). My upgrade is working perfectly. If you are still running 7.1 and you want to stay with AVG, I recommend you upgrade soon.

well i used norton for years but be aware its a process pc draining arse of a programme...i formatted last night and have starting using blueyonders own pc-guard... it comes with anti-virus,firewall,anti-spyware,identy theft,pop-up blocker & management system and to be honest its doing a pretty good job so far & its free its basically a coy of kasperspy.

as others have stated AVG is good along with kasperspy depends what you want and your'e system spec.

ps.. 1 copy of norton security centre 2006 going free !!!!!!!! lol
