Virgin Media has this morning announced its plans to double the speed of its 'XL' cable broadband from 10 to 20 Mbps from May. This will make Virgin's broadband service one of the fastest services available in the UK taking advantage of its unique cable network.
This change will also result in a price rise from £35 to £37 per month (including VAT) but the upstream speeds will also increase to 768 Kbps, bringing it into line with some of the faster DSL services.

expect 20 meg to kick in around 1st MAY

Wouldn't surprise me if Virgin were running at 75-100MBps by the end of the decade.

Any idea if they're increasing everyone's speed? they usually upgrade everyone.

I still cant get beyond 512k with anyone!!!

Need to move to the big smoke!!!

I saw "ADSL Max" which claims it can boost me to 2.5 MB, but not sure what it is yet....

thats a roger on that paul m8... its across the full network and 50 meg is being trialled in kent just now by my m8 so i dont think 100 meg is too far away...

Yes, they are doubling up everyones speed

Worth the £37 if all site can deliver and downloads are good, other than that im happy with my 4mb
