| Had to go somewhere today which involved me going on the motorway, now I knew my car was on its last legs but I was hoping Id get another 6months out of it then perhaps speak to a few (*cough) mates over a cheap runaround. Anyway I got 6 miles onto the M6 and BANG!!!!!!! the engine over heated and blew the head gasket spunking it guts all over the motorway, by the time I came to a halt the whole engine had seized. Car = dead.(fucked, kapoot, knackerd, squished) I wasnt inthe RAC but I am now ![]() £95(£43+recovery now) later but they could only take me 10miles. I needed to get another 10miles after that, the RAC bloke rung a garage that could do me for another £95 to take me home or destination. Cut a long story short the car is scrap and today has costme best part of£200. and I was out from 8.30am till 4.00pm right now I feel like getting smashed. At last I dont have to worry about fuel costs ![]() anyone know where I can buy cheap hiking boots ![]()

| Had a similar problem a while back. Just after Fallon was born took Donna to Doctors for check up but waited in the car and Fallon was with my mum. I sat in the car with the engine switched off but with cd player on. I've got an amp, bass box and 8 disc changer and never thought it would fcuk my battery within about 1/2 hour. When Donna came out I went to start the car and just got a click, battery completely dead. My dad was still at work so I couldn't get in touch with him, didn't know anyone with jump leads so rang the AA who I wasn't a member with. I had to pay call out fee of about £70 and then about £50 to actually join. They said AA will be with you in next hour to two hours, they were due to close the gates at the doctors in 1/2 hr. I was parked on a fcuking hill. I told Donna to get in the car and hit the brake when I said so and tried to push the car up the hill. It was like a scene out of Worlds Strongest Man with me failing miserably to push the fcuking car. Eventually my dad turned up after work, helped me get the car out of the car park which is not easy when your electric power steering isn't working and I parked up at the roadside while waiting for AA. To make things worse I'd had the electric windows partly down, it was freezing and I couldn't get the fcukers back up so I was frozen until AA showed up. The bloke that came was spot on but then told me I should have joined up, waited half hour then said I'd broke down to avoid the call out fee. ![]() About £120 to get home which was about 3 miles away and I still haven't bought any bloody jump leads but I am now in the AA. Get yourself a runaround Carl and with it get a burkha, must be loads of mussy women driving round Blackburn that never get stopped for fear of racism etc. If you get pulled you just "speak no english". ![]()

| Read something recently about Bangernomics. Basically it involves buying the cheapest car you can find on places like e-bay, run it until its MOT runs out and then buy another. Someone reckoned they managed to run a car for around £600 a year plus fuel and insurance, which isn't too bad is it? ![]()

my mate did this for a good few years - would pick up a car for no more than £200 and run it into the ground.

| I know a bloke who was at Cheltenham who is notoriious for driving crap cars with no insurance, and no MOT or road tax if he can get away with it. He got pulled by the police somewhere far from civilisation (on the A9 I think) in Scotland, in one of his rustboxes. No insurance etc etc. He told them it was just a technicality. They took his car to be crushed and left him by the side of the road, with about £2-00 in his pocket. I laughed ![]() ![]()

I got an Austin A40, which went straight to the scrapyard. A Rover 90, which was broken up as the body work was aluminium, and all that went to the scrapyard. The third one was a MK2 Jaguar, he said the engine was fcuked. I towed it to my mates garage and asked him to have a look, but not spend too much time on it. The following day he bought it to my house, engine purring ![]() It cost me £2 for the repair. In the six cylinder engine, a core plug under the bulkhead had blown where the pikey hadn't seen it. One core plug and a tube of red hermetite later, she was up and running. Probably the best car I ever owned to be honest. 3.8 engine, manual change. spotlights on the roof, pillar box red, spoke wheels (which I sold three times) and one night in Yalding in Kent I left at 8-30 exactly, and was outside East Ham Town Hall just before the clock struck 9.It's impossible to do that today without getting nicked as cameras are everywhere and the limit on the Blackwall Tunnel road is 50 or 60. It was a flying machine for its day, a guaranteed bird puller, and Gazzas predecessors Panda cars couldn't get near it ![]()
