i wonder what his odds will be.

i think hamilton was 1-10 before the open so might get decent odds by some bookie. i beliee paddy power were already paying out on those who had backed him so they might be offering best odds.
but worth shopping around if you fancy podrik to win it.

Hmmm. Padraig will almost certainly be an unbackable odds-on favourite for RTE's version anyhoo...that one's voted for by a panel (including the likes of Eamon Dunphy! ) and not the public btw.

I'd imagine he'd have a tough time beating Cristiano Ronaldo to that award. As Stereoman says he's a cert for the RTE version.

I dunno about that and even then it isn't that sure a win. RTE's award is an invited jury vote and not a public vote and Henry Shefflin apparently just about beat out Derval O'Rourke 4-2 in a six panel vote on a shortlist of ten last year.

Good on RTE for not wanting to stuff their pockets with the filthy lucre of telephone voting but one has to wonder if they'll be mighty tempted to change it to a public vote to cash in.
