Sports Betting and Stock Investing

So, I started a thread about Betgraphs.com, Betbrain.com, and value betting, and the subject of stock investing came up! Better shift that line here

Well, I invest in stock too, and I would like to hear if sports bettors in general use their smarts on stocks too?

Ive plenty of shares in my works company bought mainly at around £5 and currently £11 - we have projected targets of around £20 by 2011 ( they did advise they would double from the fiver to a tenner which they have done better ) Im still buying £350 every month as Ive done for the last 8 years, not as much profit as the initial few years but still mega quids-in - also pays a good divident twice a year.

The way I look at stocks is that it can take ages to make 50%, and that would be a cracking investment.
But I feel I could find a better bet and make a far better percentage in a day generally speaking

They are both gambling. Would still invest though, of course there are dividends but to make it worth your while you need a large holding and a big intial outlay

I think investing and sports betting are very simillar. Study, decide value, look at price, and when things go well, it feels the same!

Personally I visit many investment boards too, and the atmosphere is so simillar to a good, intelligent board like this.
