SE Asia - Anyone been? Any 'Must sees'? - The Punters Lounge

Me and the missus and another couple are planning to visit SE Asia early -> mid 2009. We have a clsoe friend who is now living in singapore so we wil be visiting him towards the end, which roughly gives us 2 weeks to travel.

Any recommendations? A mate has just got back from Vietnam and said it was awesome so this is on the 'potential' list. . . . Anywhere else?

Just bought the Rough Guide to SE Asia will plugh through that too.

Went a couple of years ago done Singapore,Malaysia,Thailand and Cambodia.

Highlights

Ankor wat (near siem reap) in cambodia.......to be honest I don't think that the pryamids or the great wall of china could be as impressive.

Kuching (Borneo) If you like wildlife and seeing outdoor stuff Borneos the place to be. Malaysia is as cheap as Thailand but the one exception is alcohol because its a muslim country.....£4 a pint in Kuala lumpur

On the other hand if you just want beaches and

then stick to Thailand......
