Whilst I do not condone what the pair did, it was distasteful and out of order, it is no way a sacking offence. Try sacking the producer who allowed this pre-recorded show to go out perhaps...?

For what it is worth, I have got nothing against Russell Brand, in fact I do actually find him 'fairly' amusing. Jonathon Woss, however, is a twat.

If people were to go back through Russell Brands' back catalogue I think they would find some FAR worse moments that he has come up with....

You couldnt make it up could you? It was the headline story on ITV news at 10 yesterday! Its a complete mountain out of a molehill surely?? I'm a big fan of both of them to be honest but they did go over the top, no doubt about that. It wasnt even a funny gag either but the amount of coverage and reaction the story has got is absolutely staggering and actually quite depressing.

Brand and Ross apparently have their humurous moments on telly.

I've never watched Brand, he looks like a freak to me, and Ross, who I watch now and again, tells the majority of women on his show that he's after a shag, or implies he has a large dick. Unfortunately for him, it's on his fcuking shoulders.

And the audience, mostly fcuking idiots who no doubt revel in watching Big Brother, or programmes of that ilk, burst out laughing with him, rather than at him.

As far as I'm concerned reactions have been over the top, because there are far more stupid cnuts on the telly than this pair of idiots.

And as for the 'prank', it wasn't even funny.

These are two of the highest paid civil servants in the country. Ross gets paid more than the PM and all his cabinet put together. This is the BBC - public service broadcasting - paid for by you, not some W.A.N.K FM station.

Forget it was Andrew Sachs or the girl involved, it is just not on to abuse a 78 year old man in this way and then broadcast this drivel. I would get sacked if I did this during working hours on my company phone, as I am sure many of you would, so why is it so absurd these two will pay the price.

I agree it is not front page news and maybe shouldn't have even made the news but PR and media does that. Lets face it Brand will not be missed, I never watched Ross on TV but his radio show was entertaining whilst driving to the football on a Saturday morning but I'm sure I'll get over it with my High School Musical 3 CD.

Its their job to be innovative and run very close to the line of what is acceptable and what isnt. It, however, isnt their job to censor themselves, this was recorded 2 days before it was aired and like a lot of shows (almost all 'as live' shows in fact) someone is in charge of deciding whether the segment gets broadcast.

Alexander Armstrong was saying that if everything filmed whilst they were shooting 'have I got news for you' (of which hes been a guest presenter a number times) was aired then it definately wouldnt have got to its second series.

Someone didnt do their job properly, but it certainly isnt Ross or Brand - and comparing this to someone sitting at their 9-5 making prank calls is downright silly.

Agreed, yes if I did it while being paid to answer telephone enquiries on the product my company sells then I would be fired and deservedly so. However I'm not a comedian (good or bad and I don't think whether it made you laugh or not is really the point here) and therefore mine and the majority of the great British public couldn't compare wht is and what isn't acceptable whil working.

As for 'Have I got News for You' I can 100% believe this. Anybody who has ever attended the fiming of 'Buzzcocks' will testify that what is shownon TV is barely recognisable from the near knuckle comedy delivered to a live audience.

Suspending them for this is just ludicrous and like many things in this country, full on media driven. Total crap!!!
