Thanks Fitz. I don't have an allegiance in the Munster Final as I think Kerry are short priced, but doubt Cork can take them. I'll happily take on Kerry should they meet Armagh or Tyrone later in the year. Not convinced they were the most worthy winners of an All Ireland last year, like they didn't beat anyone of significance IMO. Good luck though. ![]()

Hello everyone, My name is John "TheRook" I am from South Carolina, USA. I have in the last few months gotten very interested into soccer and figured where else to learn as much as I can then from the most knowledgable in the world. I have starting wagering on soccer now for a few months, mostly based on line movements. I'd love to get a better feel for the teams, trends, stats on all the leagues that you all have. In turn if I can help in any way with some American sports, by all means use and abuse me. This looks likes a fantastic forum. Sincerely, TheRook

to the forum John!!!! Good to have you on board. The football (soccer) seasons are just getting underway around Europe, so you've popped in at just the right time. In the UK, the championship, League 1 and League 2 get underway tomorrow (Saturday) - the top division, the premier league starts next week. The curtain raiser to this, a friendly between the cup winners (Arsenal) and the league winners (Chelsea) is this Sunday. Other European leagues have already got underway. Looking forward to reading your contributions and hope you find what you're looking for in other peoples contributions (and if you don't - feel free to ask).

welcome mate, I may well be asking you to explain the intricacies of some american sports to me one thing tho, "soccer", we call it football, if you cant bear to use that because of your American Football, then "footy" will do if you want to know about who's gonna get relegated from Premier League, speak to Herp, he's a Blackburn fan actually, while you're here, it would be interesting to get an american prospective. What do you know/think about Malcolm Glazer?

Hi all, I'm James, new to PL but not to betting... have lost more than I could ever have dreamed off over the past 5 years or so! I'm a Wrexham fan, was introduced to this magnificent site here by Bartonbank, and mainly bet on football, especially the Football League. Plus a few token bets on TV games to keep them interesting... My top tip for the coming season is Papa Bouba Diop e/w first scorer every time Fulham are on TV, works a charm! ![]()

I am interested to see who had good days and bad days today. As far as wagering goes, I am curious to see what the percentage is of people who play draws, since there seems to be a good amount of them, and if you do play them...how do you handicap that? My wagering is all based on line movements until I get a better feel for the teams and the tendencies. Much more comfortable betting baseball, but I'm up for this challenge. As far as Malcolm Glazer goes, he is a very interesting character...but he's determined to win, and will spend the money to do it. He's been a winner everywhere he goes, and I'm sure he'll be a winner here. Thanks again for the welcome, and I'm looking foward to being here. oh...so far I went 1-1 in the English Championship, 2-1 in League 1, 0-3 in league 2 ![]() | |

Hi all. My name is Andy and I'm a Port Vale fan from Nth. Staffs. I am into fixed odds, but my winning bets are getting more and more infrequent. I was looking for help/advice regarding my ante-post bet* when I stumbled across this forum, liked the look of what I saw, so joined. After the Vale, I am a fan of England, and then any other football. I've played for the same sunday side for 17yrs, and of those 17 I've been retiring for at least 6!. I also love NFL (& the Raiders) and I'm looking forward to the new season of both sports. I hope (one day) to go to a World Cup final, and also the S/bowl-if it can be done at the bookies expense, all the better. As a Vale fan I obviously have a sense of humour which I hope is politically incorrect, but have little time for ignorant bigots. I also hope to contribute positively and irreverantly to the boards. I would appreciate it if someone could point me to an odds converter, as I still work in 'old money'. *ANTE POST Prem-Chelsea 5/6 Champ-Norwich 11/2 (although I really fancied Wolves too!) L1-Bradford City 20/1 (looking for value here) L2-Boston Utd. 28/1 (impressed by their signings/looking for value) Have gone for a 1/2pt Yankee.

Thanks for that staffordrangersfan. Did you enjoy your pizza? *Boasting*-Had trials for S.R.F.C. in the late 80's (about Stan C.'s time). Impressed them enough for a call-back but didn't get a contract. Oh well, the 'bright lights' of Stafford (Grapes!) would've been the ruin of me. ![]()
