| Just downloaded a copy of the new album by The Killers, been a while since Hot Fuss came out and Sam's town is a bit less poppy, almost springsteen-esque album in places. Takes a bit of time, but think it'll be worth it. I have it on mp3 with 2 bonus tracks not on the uk release, if anyone wants it let me know and I can give them the link to where I downloaded it from. I didn't post this file for download, don't know who did. Nor do I have any control of the site upon which it is currently hosted. |

| Went to see a band called mesh-29 the other night at Leeds. They are really good live too and have an album out. You can check them out on myspace. http://www.myspace.com/mesh29 Might not be everyone's cup of tea but no doubting they have talent and the lead singer has a great voice.

| Bought The Fratellis - Costello Music. Great album, lots of fun. Love Chelsea Dagger, one that's on the radio just now but my very favourite is Whistle For The Choir. Crazy lyrics throughout the album. ![]() |

| It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but they will be big. Some of their other tunes are on their myspace site too, all pretty good IMO.

| www.myspace.com/thelongsands The Longsands A good mate of mine is the lead guitarist in this band. They are really trying to make it, and regularly gig in Newcastle and in the North. Have played a few times in London and are currently trying to win a record contract via an online competition. What does everyone think?

I Am the Fear - This was my fave. Very catchy from the word go - 8/10 Cheshire Life - Thought this one kept threatening to get going, but never really did - 5/10 When Did The Fire - OK, but not one that would stay in your mind imo. The music (esp guitars) were too quiet on this one imo. Jacknife - This is more like it, crank up that guitar! Another catchy tune and the best chorus. The singers vocals were also best on this track - 8/10. Just my thoughts. ![]()

| Scott Matthews - Passing Stranger My sister got this album for xmas and after hearing it for the first time, although not really paying FULL attention, I thought to myself - that's got one or two nice tracks on it. Having listened to it properly now I can definitley recommend it - a bit of a grower and great to have on in the background while playing poker or reading. Some nice slide guitar parts and haunting melodies, nothing too complex and his voice doesn't wear thin like Blunt's in my opinion. Danny

| Ghosts we pretty good - were on the same bill as air traffic when i saw em! Is it Levi's one to watch?! Ghosts were supporting Air Traffic but were actually better, decent indie, but nothing too special.

| Got a couple of albums this week. Manics - Send Away the Tigers, easily the best thing from them in a decade. I'd place it between Everything must go and Generation Terrorists in terms of sound. Nicky Wires writing is back on track, and the music is agressive and pushy in places. A proper Manics album at long last. Jarvis Cocker - Jarvis. The album Pulp should have made after Hardcore. Well written and funny in places, got the big chorus when required, and the slow stuff to. "Stormy weather", "don't let him waste your time" & Fat Children stole my life" wouldn't sound at home on either differnt class or hardcore |
