Part 1) The caesars- paper tigers. Bought this cd other day just because i liked jerk it out song. sound like a mix of the animals and blur mixed together with a scouse accent (even though they are from sweden i think, dont know why the sound scouse but they do) anyway its a real distinctive sound, unlike anything else thats around today. its an album that has drawn me in from first listen. think I'm going to end up playing this loads!

ok cheers part 2 Bloc Party- Silent Alarm had this ages, but its class so I'll review it here. Bloc party are a cool mix of funky grooves and riffs. people have compared them to franze ferndinand, but i cant really hear it myself. Bloc Party sound more laid back, a bit like feeder but with crunching guitars reaplced by funky basslines. Highlights are definitely Helicopter, which has a well cool riff, and Banquet, which i think has just come out as a single. Had this on my mp3 non stop for about 2 months now, just dont tire of it, apart from the odd poor track which i skip. Compliments i think its called, one of those end of album fillers, but rest is amazing.

I like the caesars, immediately accessible. Not quite so convinced of the longevity however think its a bit shallow. Will have to get bloc party not heard them. Currently being played too loud out of my car are the doves (a proper 'grower') and the killers.

| Bloc party album is probably favourite of the year so far, seems to have divided people into either its brilliant or rubbish. I like the doves album but i don't think its as good as the first two albums but i thought they were very good. Kaiser Chiefs album is solid but nothing to get carried away with. | Ah well you see I liked the kaiser chiefs on the first couple of listens but then it started to grate very quickly in a blur type style. The girlfriend currently has it and I am refusing to take it back. |

yes I have gone off Employment in a similar way vilamoura (welcome to pl by the way ) gonna get that doves album and review it soon, been debating getting it for ages a follow up to Paper Tigers, just realised listening to it again this morning that The Caesars have a sound of early ash (jack names the planets, uncle pat) but no crunching guitars. nice cheery music but with some quality aswell

cheers gaz glad on two accounts 1) you respect my opinion enough to download it if I say its good (when you say download, I assume you mean legitimately purchased it) and 2) that you liked the album, my favourite is still helicopter on that album, it makes me run a hell of a lot faster when it comes on during my 15k training runs! Part 3 Daft Punk Human After All what surprised my about this was that I already knew half the songs from adverts, but didnt realise it was them! the french duo are back with more cool beats, robot voices and samples. It's very much an album to stick on at a party, but also cool to chill to "Make love" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, and sounds like something that would be perfect to listen to at sunset on a beach in a warm country without a care in the world. "Steam Machine" is just a scary song that gave me nightmares, you'll have to listen to it to see shy, just sounds like a REALLY evil robot whos about to kill you! other highlights are Human After All, Prime time and Technologic Daft's music is certainly a hardcore sort of dance music, if you're into prodigy you'll really like this. If you're more Eric Prydz then you wont talking of daft punk and cool, check this out of them vs queen http://www.partyben.com/DaftQueen-BiteDaFunk.mp3 mix of an old song, pretty good though
