The situation as I saw it was a very funny post that deteriorated into an attack on Liverpool/scousers and as we all know AJ likes to light the blue touch paper and stand back as he did in this thread.

Is what I entered when I banned Teddybear. I fully stand by this ban, he was a member with 4 posts, 2 of which were in seperate threads which just seemed abusive. He'd never posted a single tip or any gambling related post. There was a brief discussion amongst some mods, all of whom concurred with the decission to ban. I viewed him as a random nutter / spammer no idea that he was anyones mate. In my view someone with 4 posts, none of which are on topic has very little right of reply, it's just cleaning up rubbish.

I happened to press the 'ban' button, but I have no doubt any other mods would have done so. Btw, I didn't pull his threads, it was another mod. I'm not naming him, but I support his decision in doing so.

If you think I'm getting sexually excited doing this, then I'm bewildered.

I may be wrong but he was making a point but he wasn't allowed to express further than that as he was instantly banned with AJ saying something along the lines of - I enjoyed clicking this ban button now go away you stupid prick - or something similar and the post is deleted. His mate gets banned for being guilty by association and PL lose two members.

Dizzie wasn't banned at this stage. He was banned at a later stage by Paul Ross.


As for lighting blue touchpaper, I'm guessing you're referring to dizzies thread about Sky TV. I had one post in that thread

Don't really see the blue touchpaper there myself, in fact it was one of the mildest posts in the entire thread. You've jumped down my throat because you have an issue with me. It seems you were delighted to find a cause to attack me. I'm not 100% sure of the reason, I think it may be because you took offense at a jokey post I made about the royal family and iraqi beheadings, or perhaps because you have an issue about the fact I pressed the ban button for -ed-.

I gave Ed the ban he so clearly craved, everyone knows that posting links to tdp isn't allowed on the PL given the history involved with some people.

Several people had been banned in the past for it, it was a clear policy endorsed by the team. Ed knew this. He wanted the ban, I gave it to him. Interestingly you don't appear to have issues with some of the other people involved that night. I didn't ban DD btw.

I feel no need to defend myself to you or anyone else, but for the record I am one of the mods least likely to ban, and have on several occasions over the past few years posted in the mods forum about the dangers of the overuse of it, and the problems it caused on the PL prior to Paul taking over. but I guess that doesn't fit your predujiced opinion of me.

Not sure if he's been mentioned but I think Zesh Rehman is a Pakistani and has played for Fulham in the Premiership.

In defense of AJ I moved the thread and for those that didn't see it there was no banter or light heartedness to it from teddybearspicnic, it was not about stereotyping or banter, it was just clearly racist and aimed to offend or upset others. I then asked if it warranted a ban and before you know it he has started an almost identical thread again aiming to offend. It was that point he was banned and deservedly so and not sure if it was AJ or me that banned him. Dizzee was out to cause trouble too and that ban came later but was predictable. I didn't see the rest of the thread till yesterday as I had gone to bed.

I found the gestapo comment quite amusing and felt it would have been said tongue in cheek now knowing Brian is a dry old sod. No-one gets banned for a bit of banter but it's knowing the difference/intention and some of the other comments that followed could also be classed as racist.
I'd rather we sign up a new member than ban one but if they have nothing to offer but abuse they are better off out of here.

learn to live with other peoples opinions that may differ from what you think yourself.

thankfully someone has already said that this is like a pub where your gonna bump into stuff that iritates you - live with it! if people have offensive thoughts or you dont get on with them, you dont have to read their posts and and you dont have to purposefully hunt them down either. this thread seems to have become an excuse for a bit of mud slinging.

simply put if the same effort goes into predicting winners on the weekend then we'll all be rich
