Not really McG.

Lost in Translation - not seen it.

Seen the other two - verdict - crap

Lost In Translation- I agree a load of crap

The other 2 are classics. Didn't really enjoy watching The Matrix but the idea behind it and the effects are amazing.

None of them in my top ten or anything, but I quite liked all of them.

How is Lost in Translation pretentious?

And if you thought The Matrix was naff first time, why did you watch it again?

Remember being terribly disappointed by the final installment of The Matrix

Could anybody understand just what the hell was going on in front of those tv screens?

Another film that is called a classic but I've never enjoyed is "The shining". Nicholson is great as he always is but the film is a load of shite

Although the film did pay tribute to the greatest Grand National horse of all time.

I like Blair Witch too, good film imo. It doesn't just end, if you listen to the film the ending makes sense and the way it ends is good. I lik eLost In translation too, well I own both these films!

Shhot Em Up was gash, I agree, but didn't particually have high expectations
Citizen Cane was a huge let down for me, wanted to see it for ages and I didn't think it was much cop at all

I own Lost in Translation too and think it's a great film as it's a bit escapist, sure the action isn't there but you can sit back with a few long drinks and chill out as you watch. I love the looks of Tokyo and if any of my GH really make it big then I would love to go there and see what it's really like.

You just beat me to it, SteveO...bored out of my skull with that one.

The Thin Red Line...Malick hadn't made a film for years. Why break that habit?

In addition the amount of best Film Oscar winners that are, frankly, crap
Forest Gump....for God sake, if he was seen lurking near your kids you would have him run out of town. "Life is like a box of chocolates"...is it feck!!
Titanic...never a massive boiler exposion when you want one.
The English Patient...Never a quick death when you want one

Agreed Titanic was sh1t.
Ending was the only good part, when we see that muppet Di Caprio finally die
Also when they re-released Godzilla, awful.

Couldnt disagree more about The Matrix or Star Wars though, both brilliant films.

I loved Blair Witch, Cloverfield and Star Wars (original) - three films that have been given some stick here.

If you didn't like them, did you have pre-conceptions?

Most disappointing films have to be the Star Wars prequels.

Although other films that disappointed me were

The Deer Hunter
Taxi Driver
The Shining
Blue Velvet
A Clockwork Orange

Thought they were all shite. But are deemed as classics by some. Does anyone really like these film? Or do they just say they do.

Two Kubrick films there - he has to be the most overrated director of all time.

I hated A Clockwork Orange too. A really horrid dirty little film. Don't understand why it was ever banned though.

Kubrick wanted it banned himself in the UK because of contovisy surrounding the violence

Over-rated film I agree

Midnight Cowboy and A Clockwork Orange only banned films to have ever been nominated for a Oscar or Academy award. Something like that anyway!

Midnight Cowboy is the 3rd best film with the word 'Midnight' in the title.

Behind 'Express' and 'Run'

I agree with you there Billy both cracking films. 10 to midnight is an ok film too about a serial killer and starring Charles Bronson.
