Default E-Bay...

My lads PC blew up last week (well we think it did) so I had a look on e-bay to see if I could get the barebones for a new system (keeping the HDD and preipherals).

When I found this item.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...0999%26fvi%3D1

Well as you can see I won it for £185. A bargain imo but as you can see the seller has less than perfect feedback so I told them that I'd prefer to pay cash, in person and collect the item, which was acceptable to the seller as you can see.

This is the correspondence entered into since I won it.

Hello - I have just won this item and live in Stoke on Trent and travel to Birmingham very often. I would like to collect the item and will pay cash on collection, could you please confirm the price minus the postage and the collection address. Many thanks

This is her reply;

well the problem there m8 is i have ppl who WILL pay via paypal so i'll send it to someone who does (A) speak to me politely and like i'm a criminal and (B)trusts other ebay members thanks for your interest but quite frankly after the way you and one other person has spoken to me i'm liable to beat your face off.

What should I do?

For such a short space of time on e-bay that is a lot of negative feedback.

I'd complain to e-bay and run in the opposite direction, thanking myself for a near miss if it was me.

Says in the ad that collection possible and looking at the feedback that is what I would want to do For the amount of the item I would'nt risk being scammed.

I would insist on collection and if its refused then contact eBay and issue a NPS (non performing seller) and leave negative feedback. As Morls said you may well get a neg back in return but as long as you leave a polite factual follow up to it there should'nt be a problem as most sellers will look at it and make their own minds up. A neg will do her far more harm than you.

Put up a web page with the email correspondance you've had and post a link to it in his feedback. This way you can get in the whole story as eBay never gives you enough words to say what you really want.

Don't buy !!!

I had a look on E-bay to see what comeback there is in these kinds of instances and reported them for the abuse. I haven't heard anything yet although I have no intention of buying the PC now.

Every time I think about replying I get itchy fingers over the keyboard, and so in order to stop me saying something I'll regret I'm not replying to them. Fcuk it, life's too short.

Rather than start a new thread thought I would resurrect this one for my eBay question

We used to buy/sell loads on eBay and have feedback of just over 600

About a year ago we went to log in and found our account blocked What had happened is someone had managed to log into our account and was selling 2 brand new BMW's cnuts

eBay were really good and ended all listings/froze account etc and we had to go through quite a rigmarole changing passwords etc etc

Now tonight I have listed a couple of items and when ticked box to allow paypal payments a strange email addy pops up where my paypal addy should be,

Its the cheeky fcukers who tried to scam me

Now I wont list it on here and bear in mind my lack of PC knowledge, is there any ahem "fun" i can have with this fcukers email addy ?
