Agreed herp. Anyone seen Dodgeball? Was awful, not funny in the slightest. I think you have to have an IQ of less than 60 to find American humour amusing.

Dont know if you've been on the wine tonight Herp but this post is really not worthy of you.

Can you imagine what you'd be saying if you came across an aussie message board that said..

"Arent those Limeys really unfunny? I watched an episode of hi he hi and it was really @#%$!"

To be honest, The Simpsons and Friends are two of the funniest series Ive ever seen. Would you rather watch them or Michael Barrymore?

you posted on the other thread how much you like chris rock, richard pryor and black comedy?
I can't think of any great black british comedians. Lenny henry wasnt bad in his day.

Was just about to post something similar. Yes, they have some crap, but have people ever seen My Family? US comedy can be brilliant, so can comedy from any other country, doesn't mean there won't be crap around too.

yes Onedunme i was pissed last night and sorry for my ramblings but iwas watching the 'Jongleurs show '
and it had a load of comediens on and not one of them made a slight impact on my Humour side of the brain till this english dude came on and had me in stiches.
Americans rarely find that comedy genius stroke.
Simpsons is the best thing to come out of America Friends is funny but if you ever watch those talk shows Jay leno etc they are simply not funny.

Britsh comedy is far funnier:Only fools and horses, falty towers, young ones, open all hours,porridge..............i could go on.

But to contridice my self a bit Black american stand up is funny as mentioned above and with added names like Bill cosby.Wonder what the common demoniator is (apart from being black).

anyway my head hurts so ill leave you feeling confused and dazed

Why does everyone always slate My Family? Is it just me that finds Nick the funniest character since Homer Simpson?

He is very funny, but unfortunately doesn't make up for the rest of them. A spin-off based around him would probably be pretty good as long as the rest of the My Family cast were not involved

Nick is terribly unfunny. It's as if they have no idea what to do with the character and make his character more and more off-beat which doesn't suit the whole ambiance of the show.

Some of the husband/wife interplay can be ok on the show imo but i cringe when i see the Nick character as he isn't one thing nor another. To me Nick is almost enough reason not to watch the show which i dont barr the odd Sunday episode btw.

I hate American sitcoms but their stand-ups have to be almost on parr with the brits. Bill Hicks, Steve Martin and Dennis Leary have me in stitches when they aint talking about American politics.

I'm axactly the opposite
Pryor aside i just cant get on with american stand-ups, they just don't do the observational stuff as well as we do. I think its because they take themselves too seriously.
Some of the sitcoms are good though.

in my country for some reason saying goes: you have humor like englishmen (which means that you are unfunny) however most popular shows in serbia ever are only fools and horses and black addar(anybody can tell you that, people missed work because od Dell and Rodney)

on other side yanks sure have great series. i don't know person who does not like simpsons or saindeld. fraiser has been a great show in my oppinion and are south park great or what.

so there is no dilema, people have different kind of sance of humor and so goes for nations but bassiclly everything can be funny...with little help of....

observational comedy in the mould of jack dee and peter kay is what british do best but a number of stand ups from other countries are imo very special indeed

cant recall names but watch the likes of jongleurs and comedy store on paramount and uk gold and they are there from all over the place

on to my family. i love this show - it isnt in the class of OFAH and porridge etc but what is these days. one of the best british sitcoms of the last 5 years IMO

Default you have to laff...

Comedy is very much in the eye of the beholder.
does anybody else think chimps in trousers is funny? or dogs dressed up? I dont get it but a friend of mine used to spend hours in from of the Discovery channel laughting at and with the monkeys.
We both loved woody allen and laurel and hardy so you just cant tell really.
At the moment I'm watching (and have if anyone wants a copy ) of Seinfeld series 1 to 6 which I love and also Ali G in USA , well more accurately Borat who I find totally fukin bruilliant. this is a golden age for comedy , all we used to have was Terry and June and love thy neighbour (fukin rubbish).
Malcolm in the middle is liked by people who's taste I respect but I aint seen one of em.
One program which I hated but everyone I know loved was Trigger happy T.V , what the fuk is that all about?
One mans Stella (belgium) is anothe man's Fosters I suppose.
Hello again David , fave Office moment , well I loved the episode when they were doing the training course and David ands up getting his gutair out , marvellous. Or when he appears from behind his desk having just been fired with that Bernie Clifton bird leg outfit, class
