Default Anyone live in Brighton?

Might move there over the next few days, weighing up some options. Any good. Heard it is. (no comments on the gay scene please)

Plenty of jobs about and that? Where is a good place to move area wise?

Good City, plenty of pubs with good music, nice greyhound stadium & racecourse, easy access to London (bout 55 mins on train), some really nice aeras to live but stay clear of Whitehawk, Moulsecombe & Kemp Town. I live about 35-40 mins east of Brighton & i like it but then i'm between Eastbourne & Hastings so anything would be good........& you can keep well clear of the gay scene quite easily

yeah al lives just outside

i play poker there about once a month.
lively ,cosmopolitan but slightly on the expensive side
would expect the job market would be as good there as anywhere,a lot of their trade is short break tourism which probably won't be effected by the credit crunch too much.

seems nice and with a decent nightlife,i wouldn't mind living a bit nearer there.

I was going to buy a betting shop in Shoreham many years ago, it was an old Mecca shop.

Until I went down to see the place.

Kept on going...

In the sea would have been the best place for Shoreham.

Not next to it.

I work in Hove and live 12 miles down the coast from brighton.

It is sort of a mini london as it has has a bit of everything there, a good place to go out and have a few beers. However a lot of the main places that provide work for temps are going around worthing due to relocating to india, so expect there to be a lot of demand for temp jobs if your looking for that sort of thing.

Rental/house price wise the city itself is very expensive for the coast.

Why was it made a city?

At school (a looooooooong time ago ) we were told that you had to have a Cathedral to be classed as a city.
