Default Anyone know about PC's? How much should i sell this for?

After moving house we're now having a major sort out and need to get rid of my PC - i know the basics but have no idea how much one should go for as I am selling mine as I have got a laptop (we just dont have the space!).

Could anyone give any advice as to how much I can hope to get for the following - all in good working order.

Packard Bell Imedia PC
  • P4 2Ghz Proccesor
  • 512MB Ram
  • Windows XP Home
  • 40GB Hard drive
  • 128 mb Radeon 9600 Graphics Card
  • Free Scanner too!
Any help anyone can give as to a reasonable price or where i should sell it (ebay/local ads/uni free ads?) would be much appreciated. Picture below:

Well you have to bear in mind you can go into curry's and get a laptop with a spec that blows that away for about £400.

Serious suggestion: If you don't need the money have you thought of cleaning it up and donating it to the local primary school? That's what I did with our last laptop we got rid of, and I'll be doing it when I get a new desktop too

Thanks for the input mate - I have thought about donating it yeah - but to be honest - I could do with the money having just moved etc.

For some reason, i have in my mind about £100 - is this ridiculous?

I'd say you'd be lucky to get £50 for it as it's a bit dated now (computers depreciate so fast). Can't see anybody buying it off ebay as the monitor and base would cost a fortune in P&P (probably more than it's worth!!)

Either give it to charity or see if someone in your family (niece/nephew etc) want it. Failing that, chuck it in the skip. That's where my last couple ended up!

Gotta agree with Blade, its had it really and you'd do well to get owt for it. My desktop is a top end P4, 3.2 Ghz, 2Gb RAM and a 300 Gig Hard Drive I think, but its fit for fcuk all these days and my laptop kicks its arse. If your looking rid its maybe best to give it away, as its probably more hassle than its worth chasing money for it.

That generous bloke who wants to go halves on Setanta Sports said he'd give you £4 for it.
