extremely sad news that returns football to real life but cant help wondering re: drink driving and speeding as so many other young footballers have fallen to. hope i'm wrong.

makes it even worse as its 2 young lads in 2 seasons at QPR lost now. RIP.

havent heard if he was driving or not ali, plus 2 others in the car killed also, so who knows what the cause was.

I just remember the 6 goals he scored in his first season including that winner at Cardiff last season in the last minute.

Club Captain Adam Bolder has said today " he was the most naturally gifted footballer at the club"

sad day for the r's fans & the families concerned. He would have been 19 on Tuesday.

I heard about this in the shop today when I got to east London. Didn't know a footbaler was involved as I wasn't told. They know I have no interest in football.

This is about a mile from West Hams ground and I know the area very well. It supposedly happened near East Ham Fire Station. (Which was my bet when I heard it was in High Street South). This S-bend has been notorious for accidents for decades, mainly by youths who think they can drive in a 30 limit at excessive speeds. The bend has no overtaking lines in the middle of the road, and there is a right hand turn (going south to north) right on the bend. There is no bus stop for about 150 yards in either direction. I would guess that the driver was in the wrong lane on the bend. A London bus weighs over 9 tons. If it's doing a legal 30 m.p.h. and you hit it head on with a car, you lose.

Roads in east London are NEVER empty, no matter what the time is, so the 'it was late and there was no traffic' speeding excuse, if it happens, would be total bollocks in this case.

As far as I'm concerned I have sympathies for those who families of passengers who died. As for the driver, if he's dead, good riddance.

It's one less nutter off the roads in a part of the borough where my sister, niece, nephew, both daughters and grand-daughter live.

Closer than I thought.

He lived with his gran in Folkestone Road, the same road as my sister. 'Passed' his driving test two weeks ago and got himself a VW Golf.

Heard about this when on holiday and was stunned by the news. He had a great future ahead of him and its tragic imo.

Jusat like Jimmy Davis a few years back he hasn't had the chance to fulfill his potential and its a sad loss to football imo.

RIP Ray Jones.
