Default what is a point worth?value of a point in betting terms??

i know that talking about money on the forum is not classed as having the best of manners but was thinking the longer i have been betting, my acceptable amount to bet has increased.

in comparisaon to when i started just over two years ago, i would have never have put as much money ona single bet as i do now. im not filthy rich but have noticed i stake more money now and sometimes wonder whether its too much

so would just like to ask fellow punters how much money they would stake if they were to put on a 10/10 bet.

i apologise in advance if people think im being a dick asking a somewhat personal question, but im curious as to how much other punters stake.

depends on the strategy they use. A For me a point would be 1% of my starting bankroll. Others will go as low as .2%. some people way higher.

As I've won more money, the value of a point increases. I recalculate the value of a point twice a season.

Right now a point is 20 quid. 5pt would be my max stake.

Mine has too aircooled tbh, but I think what remains constant is your confidence in your bets.

Where as in the past I may have had £2 on PV to beat Millwall, this weekend I may bet a fiver. They could still be both 10pt bets though because of my confidence level.

For the record I think I'm currently on about 50p to £1 per point.

The main reason for fluctuation is I play with a percentage of my betting bank (something I've learnt through my poker).

I go with 3 % of my betting back, but that's due to me being so poor, that 3 % aren't even 5 quid, but around that. Need to prove to myself that I can keep up my profit for 2 years, then I might invest in it

But important thing is, have a betting bank. Don't just bet out of your pocket with a few quid, and then a lot of money when you think a bet is "safe", that will have a hard time working

cheers guys, i didnt mentionanything money related to start with because i didnt want to offend or piss anyine off
but when i started i used to put 10-15 quid, with 25 quid being my largest bet, now my max bet is 100quid on singles, because it returns a healthy sumand makes it worth betting on odds like 1.5 etc
i level stake on every selection, but will only stake on games that im very confident and tend to leave fixtures which im not sure.
the only problem with this is that you can have a few winners at average odds 1.65, but it only takes 1 selection to go wrong which chews up all your profit
have been thinking about a new strategy as this year i have suffered from one too many shock results which end up ruining my betting weekend
but cheers guys for your input and would like to hear the opinions and advice of other punters on the forum

Good topic. Not really got a total bank(too many accounts, many for 1 bet a weekend really), but I can say I bet more in a weekend now on singles and doubles than I used to bet in a year.

When I am picking well and feeling confident my bets are higher (but not that much) than normal.

I'd have to total it up but I think right now after a bad run in 2007 I have about 60% of a years salary tied up in gamblimg accounts. Just don't tell the wife about that
