Odds comparisons

For those of you who like to use odds comparison sites it seems Tip-Ex are more up-to-date than Betbrain, and they post the date of last odds update for each match, and the odds as they were before (good to know if you suspect any match fixing or similar).

In general, however, the comaprisons are very similar which suggests they are doing a good job.

That is one heck of a useful site. At present I'm importing lots of averages from it into Excel files, trying to figure out which bookies predict best in Finland. Some definite trends so far, looks very promising indeed.

I've been following Tip-Ex's updates today to see how regular and accurate they are. I have to say, they have the most impressive football odds website on the Internet. Accurancy his highly impressive, and they are updating sometimes several times a minute.

Does anyone know how they manage to pull so much data from the Internet so quickly? What sort of programming/scripts would they be using? For some bookies like Sportingbet they would even have to convert from UK odds to decimal notation - not difficult I know but it it's still a bit more programming code.

I wish I could do it this fast.

Actually it can be done with some programming for an example in ASP. You just need a component like ASP HTTPthat grabs the content, parse the content you need and put it into a database.

And when you have it in the database you can mainpulate with the data as you want.
