| Hi not sure if this is the right forum.... Does anybody know any sites that have a "Not to lose" betting calculator for football games. I have been using this one.... http://www.footballanorak.com/not_to_lose.html But it doesn't seem to be working properly at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Yeah I have tried googling it but have failed to find one. Its a shame because that "not to lose" calculator has made me a tiny fortune recently. ![]()

For example if I want to know what the odds of chelsea and Man utd not losing their next games are, I select them from the drop down box and then click on calculate. It gives me this... ![]() It shouldn't be listing each team twice. Last edited by Cusamano; 31-01-2006 at 20:29.

| i'd also be interested in a larger calculator for 'not to win' as football anorak only does a combo of 5 teams. cheers.

| Aliando - i don't have an option to attach a spreadsheet, but if what you are talking about is a dutching calculator, there is one at www.arbforum.co.uk that does back and lay dutching |

| cheers georgej - i've got a dutching calculator but the one at football anorak shows all the combos for betting on the win and draw with all the prices for the bets for a straight return. Its just something that i'm playing with at the moment and is proving quite helpful but only allows up to 5 teams. what i'll probably end up doing instead is switching to draw no bet or double chance as its a damn sight easier to sort out! thanks mate!

| Anyone know of a formula for doing this? I've had a good search for calculators but none of them seem to have the capability to do this... 3 selections Back 1 of them and have 2 as savers OR Back 2 of them and 1 as a saver |

second case you want the same profit no matter which of the main bets wins? If so: Main bet at decimal odds of X, savers at odds of Y and Z. To get the same return on the savers, bet 1/Y and 1/Z respectively. Your return will be 1 if one of the savers wins, so to break even, your total stake should be 1, so bet 1 - 1/X - 1/Y on the main bet. If the main bet wins, your profit is Z - Z/X - Z/Y -1. Obviously you can scale to whatever total stake you want. Main bets at decimal odds of X and Y, saver at odds of Z. To get the same return if either of the main bets wins, bet 1/X and 1/Y respectively. To break even if the saver wins, you want the potential profit from that to be 1/X + 1/Y, so bet (1/X + 1/Y)/(Z-1) on the saver. Your total stake is Z*(1/X + 1/Y)/(Z-1), which you can scale to whatever you want.

| Wow. Thanks slapdash. I've just had a go at it and it seemed to work out. I added the totals back together to check it and it came to 19.6..... from a 20 stake. I suppose that happens doesn't it? (windows calculator, 31 decimal places) How the heck do you know all this stuff anyway? Amazing. Thanks again. |

| Hmm, just had a go at the second one. Its calculating my return isn't it? Must admit I'm a bit stumped. When you say 1/X do you mean 1 divided by the odds? I imagined that I should replace the 1 with my stake but X/1 and Y/1 then betting the result just returned the stake while Z came to less. If you get a minute mate... The stake I want to bet is £34.40 The odds I want to back are 2.20 and 9.50 With a saver at 6.70 (I reckon its around 1.50 for either of the winning bets) ...and could you put it on for me then do the washing up? Like I say, just if you get a minute mate. Is it beyond someone like you to make a betting calculator that can do these sort of multi bet and multi saver calculations? ...and then sell it... to me. Cheers. |
