| -1.5. Home team +1.5 wins unless the away team wins by more than one goal. Away team -1.5 wins only if the away team wins by more than one goal. So exactly one of the two bets will win. If you backed both teams at +1.5, then both bets would win if it was a draw or either team won by one goal. By the way, if you're new to arbitrage, I hope you've looked into the hidden dangers (getting one half of the bet cancelled if it's a "palpable error", etc.). It's never really appealed to me. |

| I'm definetely not an expert in arbitrage betting, but I think safest arb bet is when you bet in a match before hand and then with another bookies that offer in-play betting, you arb your bet as the match goes and lock yourself in for a profit. But of course there is lots of condition in order for that to happen. e.g Via Betting exchange, or arb in a situation where there is only 2 possible outcome or bet is voided, eg ODI Cricket. Sorry if its a bit OOT and not answering what you really asked but slapdash already answer all your questions I guess and good luck with your arbitrage betting. Would also be nice if you are starting to get the hang of it and make a new thread for yourself sharing your arb system to the PL Community ![]() ![]() |

| 1.81 & 3.7 - one of these is a palpable error. If you try to arbitrage this you run a big risk of one half getting voided and losing most of your cash. Last edited by HeinousAnus; 19-10-2006 at 09:35. |

It is also safe to play a +0.5 asian handicap vs one side of a 1x2. The easiest way to figure out if your arb is right or not, is to simple run through all possible outcomes. 0-0 = +1.5 handicap wins 1-0 = +1.5 handicap wins 0-1 = +1.5 handicap wins 1-1 = +1.5 handicap wins 0-2 = -1.5 handicap wins etc Shane | |
