Help required, re lay bet

Hi, i have an account with betfair and thought i put on a £30 treble for tonights football

Greece home win, England home win, and (i thought) germany away win.

turns out i pressed the lay button for germany.

I have no idea what a lay bet is. can someone please explain? also, if i contact betfair with bet reference number, will they alter the bet for me??

The lay bet is a bet AGAINST the team, ie. Germany to lose - if it has been matched - green and red figures have appeared in the germany field, there is nothing you can do - BF is a market operator, not a bookie. The only thing you can do is to back Germany and minimise the loss (the lay price was almost sure higher). I'm a bit puzzled, though, as you're talking about a treble which would mean you were in the multiples section...

yeah thats correct mate, the multiples section, stupid t**t that i am pressed the wrong button. Thanks for the reply.

So it means quite an outlay so I would defo limit the losses by backing the treble you wish.
