[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']I've not got much experience of having bets finish as a dead heat, so I was wondering how bookmakers normally settle such bets.

For example, if 2 people/horses/teams finish tied, do the bookmakers pay out at half the odds? Do they pay out on half the stake? Or is there some other way to usually settle such bets?[/font]
