| Hi folks, I'm interested in your views on this minor dispute with Betfair: I placed a bet on Betfair for Michael Schumacher to win the French GP for the princely sum of £22.5. On Sunday, Schumi lost the GP ... not a problem £22.5 lost .... nothing new there ! I then decided to place all of the funds in my account on a football match. When I looked at my Betfair account it seemed to have more in there than I thought there should have been, but wasn't sure. I placed all of the money on the football match and then tried checking where the money had come from. I tried the "History", but it said it wasn't available at that time. Later on, after the football bet LOST, leaving me with an empty account, I deposited £150 and saw the balance to be £120ish (can't remember the exact amount). To that I realised that this extra money probably shouldn't have been there. Looking at the account details, I can see that Betfair re-credited the account with my French GP £22.50 stake money around the time of my football bet (some sort of error their end). Obviously they wanted it back and so took it after I deposited my £150 !!!! My argument with Betfair was that I wouldn't have placed all of my account funds on the football bet had I known there was an error and that I should be refunded the £22.50 of the losing football bet. The "winnings" bit of the email is where I assumed the credit was for Schumi winning as opposed to them just re-crediting my original stake. Their response: "Betfair is not responsible for bets placed from your account with monies placed there in error. In actual fact you were initially debited the amount on Schumacher then re-credited it whilst we re-settled the race. You were never given additional winnings by Betfair at any stage. There will be no re-fund of additional bets" Interesting what they would have done if the football bet had WON ? As it's only a few quid, I'm not too bothered, but interested what you folks would have done ? Cheers, Running Man. P.S. Been stung twice badly on InterToto games now, so avoiding form now on !!!! |

| i wouldda whined and complained until i was blue in the face but it still would be the same outcome wherever you placed the bet, if a high street bookie had done it on their website they would of just tried to deposit the money back from your card. |
