Default Bet365 free bet problem

ok, over xmas, me & my pal who i bet with sometimes bith rec'd free bets from B365. You stake up to £25 on a bet during the period, & they match the stake on a free bet.

The bet would run out by Monday, so on Sunday, i chose Misbehaviour @ 5/1 & decided as the race looked a little difficult, that i would go ew. This meant i would win a tenner if it was placed.

It came 3rd & B365 showed the return as 20 stake, 20 return so 0 balance to come.

This confused me as i didnt understand that as the horse didnt win, i had to forfeit my right to the place winnings to pay them back for the £10 lost on the win.

They have explained that the T&C's advise that all stakes are deducted from returns. if i had known this i would not have bothered with the ew part as i could never ever collect it unless the horse won therefore may as well have 20 on the nose.

I have complained but not heard anything since they explained the T&C's. I have told them I am not satisfied & thought they would respect my judgement & either credit the account or offer another bet in return.

I will email their CS tomorrow.

Do i stand a chance? Also, this should be noted in case anyone else has a similar bet.

I agree with you that it would seem logical that you win £10. Haven't looked
at exactly what their T&Cs say, but the line of argument I would try is:

Your free bet was for £10 EW. Before deducting the stake, the return would
have been £20, including the £10 place stake, but not including the £10 win
stake, which is lost anyway. So only £10 of the stake was included in the
£20 return, so this is all it makes sense to deduct.

I think that is what i said, but i will include this in my email to them complaining about it.

Thanks

Strangly I had a free bet with BetDirect and did exactly the same bet. I was credited with £12.50 to my account after it finished 3rd.
