Angry Bet 365 - Very disappointing

Three days ago I received a flyer from Bet365, stating that they would be running four "in-running" promotions. Bet £25 before the game and you can have a free £25 bet at half-time. Don't do much "in-running", but I have taken advantage of this offer before and its tempted me to start looking into it a bit more........

Then yesterday I recieved another letter from the same Customer Service Manager (Chris Griffiths).

"Dear Mr Day,

In order to reward existing customers and attract new customers, bet365 make regular offers such as bonuses and free bets.

These offers are expensive and bet365 policy is therefore not to allow them to a customer account where we consider the offers could make a significant difference to the likely profitability of the account.

Unfortunately we have identified your account as one of those, which should be disqualified from receiving offers. Please therefore take this letter as notice that your account will not be credited with the benefit of any offers with effect from Thursday 24th February.

If you require any further assistance with regard to this or any other matter please do not hesitate to call Customer Services. Our team are available 24 hours a day by email or telephone and we will be pleased to assist you."

I was pretty annoyed. Rang customer services and they basically told me that because I wasn't a big loser I couldn't enjoy their promotions. I pointed out that I did a lot of business with them, and unfortunately for them I was having a reasonably good time of it at the moment. But I was still a loyal 365 customer - if they match the odds with other bookies I'll use them as I like their site and find their payouts etc to be good.

This didn't wash. If you have won a few quid from them, due to a few lucky wins they don't like it.

So much for customer loyalty.

I asked if Chris Griffiths could ring me to explain exactly what I had done, as according to my calculations they were actually around £70 up on January / Feb so far. I've heard nothing so far.

So much for customer service.

I also pointed out that I was particularly annoyed that they told me about the promotions and then two days later told me I couldn't use them.

So much for intelligent marketing.

Has anyone else recieved such a letter or is it just me?

Apparently a lot of punters got the same letter. I didn't - just the vouchers.

Atrocious publicity for Bet365.

Change bookies mate. If they done that to me I would certain;y e-mail them telling them that I would be taking my custom elsewhere if they considered me like that.

I just signed up to Bet365 a week or so ago to take advantage of their sign up off and their in-running offer. But I won't be using the account very much more I think, because I don't really like how they do certain things. Things like this totally put me off bookies.

Ridiculous.

Maybe Paul could help you out with getting your 25 pound stake refunded? I would not have expected such bad customer relations from B365, usually they are quite good. Get onto them big style.

This time I got no email like I usually do to toell me of the in running offer.
But I went for it anyway and lost on the free bet so emailed em as usual and they emailed me back (they usually dont reply to my request for the free bet back) saying we've refunded you, watch out for more special offers, etc, etc..
So no complaints here, I'm up a few hundred euro since opening a bet365 a/c about a year ago and maybe €130 of that is down to their offers so I half expected to be told no you cant have your money back!!

Dumped these months ago, get rid, they look for new business only, couldn't give a monkeys about loyalty, like a lot of bookies now they are heavily promoting the Poker side of the business (NO RISK), guaranteed profit onto the bottom line.

Ladbrokes just reported record profits on the back of Poker, but to give them credit always have time to answer e-mails and still promote "ordinary" punters who just want tenner bet. gl.

All in my honest opinion.

Very surprised at this. I do 80-85% of my betting on the exchanges now but what little else I do with bookies is split between Bet365 and Pinnacle. I've always found Bet365's customer service to be first rate. They have the best selection of markets around, put up early prices and while their prices aren't always the best they're not the worst and often have some early standouts. Have noticed a worrying trend towards limiting stakes which I'm not sure is personal or not. I had a winner on a single figuree odds outright selection on tennis recently that was restricted to double figures. Must have little faith in their odds compilers

Again can only speak for myself but I emailed them about something recently at 8.18 in the morning and had a reply by 11.30. I must be a bigger loser than I thought to get such atypical customer care

I think we can say they are cheating indirectly. Well, who can blame them.
All bookmakers want their members to lose right.
Members who are winning are just like their enemies

why is it that people seem to ffor get that bookies are a business and at the end of the day have to make money if they didn't there would be nowhere to complain about

Ladbrokes on the other hand don't listen at all even when your placing bets and when your first bet wins dont want to give you another bet
