Treble value

[Mr Intensity]

Looking to start a new system considering the stupidity of my last one. This is based on picking 9 teams/players. 3 of which will be odds-on, 3 will be about evens and 3 will be odds-against. These will be permed in 3 trebles, consisting of the three odds on bets, three evens and three odds against. Starting with a bank of 100, 10% of the bank will be placed on each treble and 5% will be placed on a 9-fold accy of all the selections (just in case ).The selections will be made on any sport, so bets MAY be placed in midweek aswell as the weekend. I'll be back to make the first selections later on.

Wouldn't you rather just give me the £100.

In terms of overall satifaction, you will have none and I will have lots. In contrast, if you give it to the bookies, you will have none and the bookies will have a tiny bit more than before since they already have so many customers indulging in such practices. Following the utilitarian principle, I would argue the the former is preferable.

Sarcasm aside, if you must do such trebles, I'd advise £1 for the shorter price, 50p for the middle price and 10p for the largest. As for the 9-team accas, I don't think our monetary units go below 1p

Before you mock my small-stakes approach, I urge you to analyse the implications of staking 10% and 5% with such large odds.

I have decided to change the system. The bets will all be level stakes, 10 quid on each of the trebles and 5 quid on the accy.

Although Joe has a accurate point here,adjusting the stake size according odds involved should be the best way to follow imo.
