.... thanks David, hope this is as good this season as it has performed previously, no reason to believe otherwise as the reasoning behind the selections remains the same as always and this has been good enough for the past two seasons, so it has stood the test of time!

.... will be returning with this system soon.

As a matter of interest there were six selections today, five won and the

only one that lost was Exeter C (away). So encouraging signs indeed!

... well it's up,up and away with a flyer for the first bet of the new season using the highlighted 3-0 system.Stevenage flew the flag and came good with the win 3-0! So 1 correct from 1 and onwards and upwards.

..... thanks young fella, here's hoping also:-

This week's highlighted :-

Stevenage B (A) 2.36 WON 2-0
Bayern Munich 1.64 DRAW 1-1
Juventus 1.43 LOST 0-1
Torquay U 1.70 - WON 3-1

Stevenage looks tough but they have been playing well, so should do OK.

First of all, Merlin, thanks for all the hard work you put into this thread. I admire your dedication... and the courteous and constructive manner in which you respond to other people's input. The system has proved itself over 2 seasons and long may it continue.

I have downloaded MW's sheets and am keeping them up to date. Just one or two queries. Is it only 3-0 predictions that qualify, or is 4-1 / 5-2 acceptable? (I don't suppose there are many of these anyway!). Also, is there a short-cut method of showing MW's predictions, or do you have to laboriously go through each team from the drop-down menu on the "teams" worksheet?

Finally, some comments on your selections for this week-end. My sheets highlight Torquay (Conference, tonight) and Newcastle on Monday (I am dubious about the Newcastle prediction - obviously Derby's 0-6 thrashing at Liverpool probably affects the "mathematics", and it is amazing how often a team turns round a thrashing with a good result). Following last season's poor start to the system, you vowed to ignore the first 5/6 games for this season. Bayern and Juventus have only played 4 and 2 games respectively.

Anyway, thanks again, Merlin, and here's to a profitable 2007/08 !

.... thanks for looking in Grex and for the kind remarks, and indeed your thoughts/assumptions.The answer to the first question re 3-0 scorelines etc is that I usually take all scores over the 3-0 mark, so 4-1 or 5-2 would be qualifiers.I use the Enter Results for Date Range tab at the bottom of the page, select the fixture date range, then click on button 1 and the drop down box shows all scores predicted for the chosen week for each division you are interested in.You are indeed right about the Torquay match being highlighted, I had the fixture missed off my fixture list for some unknown reason.I am not yet as far as Monday's match for Newcastle U, this will arise over the weekend when I update etc.You are also bright eyed and bushy tailed re my remarks about waiting 5/6 matches with the Euro, however I threw caution to the winds and decided to go for it! Hence the selections. They look good, solid, so I included them.Anyway do come back, good to see some interest!I have included Torquay in the selections. Cheers.Merlin.

.... six selections meet the criteria for Tuesday night :-

Charlton A 1.81
Plymouth A (A) 3.10
Halifax T 1.62
Kidderminster H 1.55
Salisbury 1.63
Stevenage B 1.40

Don't like the looks of Plymouth too much, but stranger things have happened.

Wow, just been looking through this thread and it is great. I just downloaded the spreadsheet from Michael Wrays site, but I can't seem to find any instructions. Could you please explain how to use the spreadsheet to update and generate predictions for an excel numpty?

Cheers Merlin
