Default Suggestion - fruit machines section?

Hi,

Not sure if this has ever been mentioned before (sorry if it has), but how about a fruit machine section to the punterslounge?

As I am sure more than one of us has put the odd pound in the machine in the bookies whilst waiting for the next race to start?

I think you'll find most of the members on here will avoid them like the plague mate, they aren't for the shrewder punter for sure.

Back in the 80's you could win on them, but companies soon found out a select few were winning regularly and they all scrambled their programs, now you have no chance in the long run.

In the UK they have to pay (its the Law) a minimum of 70% , so putting £1000 in you only get back £700 ( if your lucky ! )

Back in the mid to late 90's into 2001, I found them quite easy to win on, but after that they all seemed to change, and I made some rather silly large losses.

Since then I really cut them down to point where if I see someone stick 20 in and lose I will throw a few quid in them.

Or if I get so very drunk that I think i can beat the machine..... Strangly I never seem to though!

Unless you cheat. saw a documentary a few weeks back about a bloke who took just about every casino in vegas to the cleaners. He was so good even after one of his accomplices grassed him up the casinos wouldn't believe they'd been cheated.

My friend is a fruit machine adict and makes around £600 + a week doing towns and service stations but its a lonely expensive old game as i've been on a few trips with him and theres things to them but alot of people are blinded by the old cliche your mother would say " the winner at the end of the day is the owner " by christ you would be suprised what some people know and are making of these today .

But how does he do this? I thought the machines were programmed to pay something like 78% of what is put into them so in the longer term, it is impossible for you to win - a bit like roulette i suppose.

I remember getting hold of one of those refill keys when i was in 6th form and that used to help a bit because it told you how much money was in the machine so you could make a judgement as to whether it was due to payout or not - it only worked on a couple of the machines though and they dont exist anymore.

They are fine for chucking some loose change into when you are in the pub but as for serious betting discussion, I cant really see it taking off. If we had a fruit machine section we could arguably have a National Lottery section

You just answerd your own question , Lets say people like you chuck your odd change in and maybe collect £2 on the board then put that in for no board you end up losing and buzzing the machine up with out you knowing it and along comes a " player " who will say wack £30 coins in and just play all the credits without doing a thing then go for the kill and end up £40 + up in the machine . I know pretty much all the tricks of the trade of every machine out there now but id rather stick to me horses's

Sorry i might not explained it well im tired and trying to do as least typing as possible !

i have won £300 on the roulette machine in the last two days , i dont believe the machine can cheat you , i think you can "cheat" the machine so to say i dont bet numbers i bet sections which makes it easier , £300 profit in 2 days isnt bad

You will not win on roulette in the long run. It would defy basic maths.

Sorry Sean, but I urge you to listen, you are playing against a big house edge and have no chance to win long term.

naw but guys am not using them everyday and never use the same machine two times in a row because my theory is that if it pays you out big (£300 in 2 days) then avoid it for the next couple of weeks because it will be looking to recoup the lost money go to a different machine in a different bookies , you will know after 2 mins if your luck is in , if not dont waste your money and print that receipt

How do you know it hasn't just paid out big before you go on it in 2 weeks time?

You're heading for a heavy fall Sean, but we can only try and make you listen, you have to make that decision.

And advanced maths going by Pauls link

Was going to back everyone else up, but tbh there isnt much point arguing about it. Normal roulette is bad enough, but computerised roulette is even worse.
