Default Latest Idea

Ok, this will really kick off when the football season starts up again but I have a new idea. Basically it works in a similar way to a pyramid scheme only with gambling odds and creating new betting lines.

My idea is to do use bets of 4/1 to provide another new chain with every successful bet.

I.e. - If I started off with £10 at 4/1 a win would return me £50.

I would then use £40 on another 4/1 bet and reinvest the other £10 at odds of 4/1 on another bet.

And so it continues with the next level.... £40 would return £200 - £160 used on next bet with £40 as a new individual bet. Meanwhile the other £10 that was bet from last time out will hopefully be a winner so again will split.

Hope that makes some mark of sense? Anyhows I know it's a long shot but 8 correct bets on the original stake would return over £600,000 from a £10 bet and would hopefully have other branches of potential success too. I will try and pick sensibly and by having the networked amounts elsewhere, hopefully providing the first couple of bets are successful there will always be at least one chain that is yet to break. Not likely but hopefully!

What do you think of this idea?

What do you think of this idea?

Would this be just a single @4/1 or a double such as evs and 6/4

Idea sounds good in theory. good luck with it,

Yeah 2hcb, that's one issue that I'm yet to run into but that I can see will cause a few sweats and headaches. I have my own targets to adhere to and if there is any surplus over the stake brackets that i have stated, I'm sure that I will bank that to make sure whatever happens if I win a few I will least have some kinda money back.

Oh and the bets I take will depend on what I think will win. I will use this site liberally too as people have more of an idea on other foreign leagues than me. The odds taken may vary from 1.5 to 3 or so but will depend if I think there is a real chance that it will come off.

Gone with a test run tonight....

:history.back() method=post>
TreblesDomzale V Dinamo ZagrebDinamo Zagreb to Win @ 23/20
Hull V NewcastleNewcastle to Win @ 5/6
Man Utd V Inter MilanMan Utd to win @ 5/6

£5 on - would return I think about £36

As I said it was a test run but I do believe there is a good chance each of those three teams could win. On the basis of 'I've heard of them' Dinamo Zagreb are usually in the CL and as far as I know a stronger team than Domzale. Away games in the CL are usually tough but I still feel that there class should show against a team I know nothing about.

In the 2 friendlies I have chosen Premiership teams to win on both occassions. Firstly Newcastle because they have shown a lot of class so far including beating Juventus 2-0 and I feel they can beat a Hull side that I really don't rate but who are playing their first league game this weekend.

Secondly Man U are more or less ready for the big off while Inter collapsed against Arsenal the other day. Feel Man U are more equipped for the win here and believe that they will take it.

Good luck with your system, it looks decent.

I'm with you on the Newcastle win, but I can't believe the team they put out or the current score lineHull are leading 1-0 and its nearly halftime. Fingers crossed for a better 2nd half , and hopefully they will pull through for the both of us.

And as a Man utd fan I'm cheering on a Utd win, but they are also losing 2-1.

Better luck for the second halfs of these matches.

Thanks Lucky1, that's the prob with picking friendly games though, the scores are often so unpredictable! That's why I guess the only competitive game is going way I forecast. I will try it proper this weekend and see how it goes. Least from then will be competitive games all the way through!

First bet....

Morton v Clyde - Morton to win 19/20
Peterhead v Alloa - Peterhead to win 21/20
Dumbarton v Elgin - Dumbarton to win 4/9

Would be just over 4/1 in odds so will just bank the difference should I win.

Yet again just one team let me down with Peterhead getting well beaten at home by Alloa.

So so far.... as not playing with bank...not counting friendlies as they were quoted as being dry run and not so much part of this.

P/L -£5

Looking forward to the English season starting as feel that that will be more likely to yield success.

Think I'm finally managing to get there with my behind the scenes preparations.

In the last 3 days, from Tuesday to today, I have managed to get 2 winners. I will list the latest here, not really aftering as it's not being included within my betting, only to give me a slightly increased stake for the off and by slightly .. I mean I'm starting with £8.

The first winner the other day turned in to lost money after I found the roulette table again far too easily!

I'm starting each leg now with £5 as 7 successful consecutive bets then takes it to £32,000. Which is pretty good in my books as one step seems like a piece of cake!

So as I said for tonights winner to go from £2 to £8 I had Blackburn, Zenit St Petersburg, Galatasary and Standard Liege all to win. All came in and returned £9.93 - which includes the £1.93 to start the other bet.

I am looking to see if anything for tomorrow but I'm not an expert on German or French lower leagues so might have a look at the relevant threads here to see if any games worth backing,

Ok here comes todays 2nd step...

Bet 1

Tottenham v Derby (1) @ 4/9
West Brom v Preston (1) @ 4/5
Rochdale v Chester (1) '@ 5/6

Spurs need to get their first win of the season and though Derby will be a hard nut to crack I do believe that they will be cracked. With Berba out the strikeforce is left at Keane and Bent. Both of those strikers have the ability to score against a Derby defence and most likely at least one of them will. See Spurs winning 3-1 (always concede)

West Brom are usually strong at the Hawthorns while Preston look a mixed up bag of tricks at the moment. Losing Nugent is bound to have been a big loss and I can't see that they will fancy the game today. See them losing 2-0.

Rochdale v Chester - For some reason I like Rochdale, don't ask me why as I couldn't even name one of their players for sure. Yet they did ok at the back end of last season and I feel this home game represents an excellent chance for the three points. Chester are no bad and I'm sure people will be backing them at 3/1 but I have to fancy the 'Dale here.

Bet 2

West Brom v Preston (1) @ 4/5
Coventry v Hull (1) @ 8/11
Fulham v Middlesbrough (1) @ 11/10

£2 bet - potential return £13.06

Watch West Brom now screw it up as they are backed on both lines!

Found games hard to call today, think in early season and without true league form it's difficult at times to even pick one 'sure' winner, let alone to make any kind of real acca out of it. Anyhow here goes!!

I started with just £2 for the whole thing so if it goes wrong then I just start over.

Can't believe that there was a goal in the last minute at Deepdale and it was scored by Chester! So both my bets are losers after Coventry and Fulham slip up in the smaller stakes bet.

Total -£2.00

Starting afresh tonight, just once I find some games and will update post when I can. Not too gutted when it breaks as £2 is neither here nor there!

Next up

Newcastle to beat Aston Villa
Charlton to win away at Stoke

Both give odds of about evens... wanted a third game but by the time I went to make the bet, the game had started so missed out. Returns I think £9.36 from a £2 bet. Can quote the odds later but wanted the bet up just for when the matches start.

Hmmm both results end in failure Newcastle drawing 0-0, who would have thought? And Stoke beating Charlton... just felt Charlton needed their first win and after Reid put them 1-0 up, I just hoped for the best. I was even calling for Newcastle to win to make the bet right long before I noticed that Stoke had actually equalised within minutes of Charlton's opener!

Anyhow there is no total bank as that's being added to with each new bet etc

So at the moment

Total Staked £4
Lost £4

Not going so good...think in future I won't just jump on games like the Charlton & Newcastle ones hoping for the right result. Think that's a lesson I've learned 'don't go looking for a quick win as the lose will find you faster'.

Decided that in keeping with the Glory Hunter rules I will implement a bank. This will see just how well things are going or not going. This is more of a regular thing and the bank is there I guess just to show overall win or loss. But at the moment if I've started with bank of 100pts then I guess I'm down to 96pts based on the bets that have been made here.

My next bet I will take over the next couple of days when there is a bet that represents good value and good chance of success. I have decided to limit this to a maximum of 3 teams for each bet. The reason for this is to limit the number of teams who could avoid victory to spite me and hopefully push instead for a couple to really follow. This will also help for the pyramiding of the scheme as I will be likely double backing less often. Hate double backing unless I have at least 90% confidence in the team. Otherwise if that team screw up then it costs all related bets.

Just to say that this idea is still going to be running but took time out to allow for leagues to get in to some kind of order. I figure that given a few weeks the freak results will reduce and there will some order of form. So on that basis teams will likely be valued differently but more selectable. I will start again from midweek, when the cups are played as I feel there is good value there based on the differences in quality of some of the teams.
