Well it certainly helps when your horse misses the break and the jockey spends the rest of the race rousting it along to get it up there, only to go backwards for the final 2 furlongs - to be honest even if it had shot 5 lengths clear at the start I would suggest it would've still been unplaced.

I think I'm correct in saying the top 6 in the betting filled the first 6 places home. The lay was never involved and tailed off in 8th place.

Yeah it was ok I think, clattered a fence big style and nearly lost the jockey, I knew at that point it was race over for the horse. Phew!

As regards long time stuff, doing this particular glory hunt is really helping me be selective with my bets and putting in more form study. In theory with a good set of wins the bank could grow to anything but £100 target seems acceptable for now. Even if I were to lose a bet it wouldn't wipe me out completely but would just set me back a few days which is why I still need to be 100% sure about each lay. Doing it for such small amounts also helps the old heart as it's money I can afford to lose!
