I underestimated the amount of time it takes betting each race but it is working again.

Can you not just do it all at the start of the day?

Thinking about it, I guess it depends how much money you have in your account!!

So if I am reading this right....

If for instance the fav was 3.00 in an 8 horse race, the idea is to get the other 7 layed for 3.00 in running?

And therefore, allowing for commission you would need to get at least 4 including the fav matched to make a profit at odds of 3.00?

That way if the fav won you would pay out 2/1, whilst getting 3 times (or more if more got matched) the original stake from the other 3 losers that got matched.

Am I getting the idea?

Yup

Working well again today with 10 horses matched at 6.6 I think in one race

Last 2 races were full losses as I guess favourite dominated from start to finish

But overall

The hardest thing about this by far is going to be documenting every blasted race haha!!

Easy enough to post screeshots of my statement which document how the entire day unfolded but actually typing these up would take me hours

Hey HG, surely races with short priced favourites should produce the highest turnover.
When the favourite has odds of 8/1, then you need to get 8 other horses matched, just to break even, surely??
Least even if an even shot wins, only requires 1 other horse to be matched to break even, any more for profit.

Exactly what I was thinking mate.

A cut off of say 2/1 or maybe 5/2 on the fave might be the best way to go here. Plenty of horses go that short in running too.

This is interesting.

I agree you should set a limit on the price you lay. I'd say 3/1 at the very max or maybe even 5/2.

The distance of race is a tough one.

You could say the shorter races are best because several are in with a chance 1 or 2 furlongs out but I honestly believe the longer events would be the best option as so much changes throughout the race with horses seemingly travelling well and then finding nothing.

How is the jump races going?

Yeah but in a big field it's surprising how many horses get matched around 6's. Like I said one of the best races today was a high priced favourite where 9 more horses got matched at the price of this favourite.

For that reason I'm not ruling any races out for the time being.
