Stan James have put odds up with assistance from the Hendon Mob but they're missing a whole bunch of players who are doing quite well in the tournament poker scene (Michael Mizrachi probably being the most prominent).

Blue Square and Victor Chandler also have odds. Agree with jezza's sentiments but at these shiatty odds, you have to be fairly naive if you're thinking you're getting any value (I think offshore bookie BoDog offered 'The Field' at 2/5 last year for any other player they didn't quote for outright odds to win. If they do it this year I assume it'll be more like 1/10 or 1/5 if they're generous!).

Some guy from Gibraltar called Chris Cork is bigging himself up over on various poker forums as he's qualified for the WSOP $10,000 NL Hold'em event through PokerStars (to be fair to him, probably the euphoria's got to him and he gets a chance to brag). Calls himself 'The Cat'.

Played the wsop final last night finishing 49th out of the 693 entrants. Which was a reasonable effort and I genuinley felt i made no notable mistakes. But alas it wasn't to be shortstacked for a long time i lost a coin toss hand with 8's against aj. He spiked the ace and jack on flop to condemn me.

I'd love to have a shot but looking at the methods of qualfying online it just seems a lot of effort in the likelihood of essentially getting 'nothing'.

Sure you'll get your airfare paid and a place to stay but the likelihood of placing in the top 10% (if there's 6600 as promised you're gonna have to get in the top 660 to get paid) is very little.

....you can say you once played in the WSOP and marvel at how good or badly you did but good God, the effort involved must be phenomenal.

I bet hard 1 caller turn came 7 went all in got called by A-7 lost most of my chips. I also wanted so say that I'm extremely pleased with the way Iplayed tonight very tight 28% seeing the flop.Only 1 bad call when my trip 7's with King kicker lost to trip 7's with an ace.Really happy with my play and thanks for all the great advice here.

Ulliott has Jh-10h (flush draw with two over cards), and Cunningham has 8c-8d (an overpair). Ulliott needs to catch a jack, a ten, or any heart to stay alive. The turn card is the Ad, and Ulliott still needs to improve. The river card is the Kc, and David "Devilfish" Ulliott is eliminated in third place, earning $232,205.

Tough for the chip leader with four established pros and a tournament regular in Seidel, Violette, Demetriou, Friedman and Sexton. I'll take my chances that he'll do a 'Greg Raymer' and hang onto the lead whilst the others beat each other up and be lucky enough to win.

There's every chance in the world that one of the pros will try a semi-bluff on him and he doesn't believe 'em and Morgan will double them up but that's the chance you take.

BET: £50 at 11/4 on Morgan machina.

Two final tables so far in this year's WSOP for Demetriou? He was unlucky in his other one where he finished second (still the best placing by a European no less a Brit so far at the WSOP).

I hope Harry does it. When i have seen him on telly he has come across as a really genuine bloke. That is one hell of a chip lead and i think 11/4 must represent value on anybody. Hell i would even back me at 11/4 with that chip lead.

Final Four of the Roshambo

There will be an interesting addition to today's final table -- the final four of the World Series of Rock-Paper-Scissors. They are playing for a $10,000 seat into the World Series of Poker Main Event. Phil Gordon will be hosting the action, and here are the final four players: Annie Duke, Rafe Furst, Robert Boyd, and Kevin Keller.

Bracket 1: Rafe Furst v. Robert Boyd

Note: Perry Friedman has little "faces" drawn on his two hands, so he can talk to them (and they can talk to the hole cams) while he plays. Apparently, one of the hands is "evil," while the other is "good." It'll be interesting to see which hand gives him better advice at the final table.

EDIT: Blimey, it seems to be working. He's knocked two players out (Blanda and Fabrice). Uh-oh. Machina has a lot of work to do to sustain a lot of potential raising and re-raising.

Hand 43 - Machina has the button in seat 6, and he raises to $60,000, Demetriou reraises all in, and Machina quickly calls. Demetriou has Qh-Js, while Machina has the lead with Ac-Kh. The flop comes Ah-Qc-2c, and both players have flopped a pair. Demetriou still needs to improve to stay alive. The turn card is the Ks, which gives Machina two pair, but Demetriou can still catch a queen (for trips) or a ten (for a straight) to stay alive (6 outs). The river card is the 6h, and Harry Demetriou is eliminated in sixth place, earning $123,915.

The next player eliminated will receive $147,145 for fifth place.

Machina calls the extra $75,000, showing Ac-8h, but Violette has pocket kings again (Ks-Kh). The flop comes 10h-4d-4s, and Machina will need to catch an ace or running eights to eliminate Violette. The turn card is the 3s, and Violette will win on anything but an ace. The river card is the 3h, and Violette doubles up in chips.

After the hand, Cyndy Violette jokingly says she's playing nothing but pocket kings from now on.

Paul Sexton Doubles Up Through Morgan Machina

Hand 63 - Friedman has the button in seat 5, Machina raises to $50,000 from the small blind, and Sexton calls from the big blind. The flop comes Qd-Jd-6c, and both players check. The turn card pairs the board with the Jc, Machina bets $50,000, Sexton raises to $150,000, Machina reraises all in, and Sexton calls immediately. Machina shows 8s-5c, while Sexton shows Qh-Jh, and Machina is drawing dead. (The meaningless river card is the 2s.) Paul Sexton wins the pot and doubles up in chips.

With that big pot, Paul Sexton has just taken the chip lead.

The turn card is the 4d, and she now has 12 outs (3 eights and 9 diamonds). The crowd is momentarily silent as the last card is a club -- but it's an 8! Cyndy Violette has made a pair to double up in chips and stay alive.

It's more or less over, Machina will self-destruct and it'll probably be Seidel vs Violette soon enough. Oh well.

EDIT4: I cannae believe it. The four left against Machina are the four I was worrying about and they're murdering him. :o
