Neil Blatchly an accountant from Leicester has won the Bristol leg of the Gala Casinos British Poker Tour (GCBPT)! Blatchly is from a group of players who call themselves ‘The Best Home Game in the East Midlands’ and who now have three GCBPT wins to their name following on from Rupinder Bedi and Satish Ry’s wins in the Nottingham GCBPT £500 main event and the Nottingham £50 re-buy event respectively.

I'd be really interested/curious to know what stakes/games you usually play - are you a "high roller", or a low stakes player who has done excedingly well? Did you buy in direct, or sat through? (and if you went through a sat, how much did it cost you?)

Hey no probs with the questions.

One of my best mates won the Nottingham leg of the tour, and I was going to buy in to the £500 (way above my bankroll) as he was playing it as well but I luckily won a satellite from my local gala for £25.

Before the win I use to play probably 5 times a week ranging from a £20 buy in up to a £100 and then would probably play one £300 event a month plus a few cash game here n there. I have now virtually knocked all the mid week play on the head and concentrate on the bigger events and cash and had so much more sucess doing this. I get better results playing against better players. I have also won a freeroll for a £500 seat for Liverpool the nxt leg, won a free £500 seat to Teeside and as part of my prize for winning Bristol I also got free entry into the £1500 grand final.

Before the big win I had played 2 x £1000 main events at broadway, 3 previous Gala Tour main events all £500 entry fee, £500 main event at sheffiled and about 3 x £300 entries, all of which I had won satellites to enter.
