look after your phyiscal condition, you've got to be mental and physically sharp to play. The top pros do gym work. If your phyisical condition isn't right, then the brian suffers. Put in an hour a day at the gym, and your game will come on leaps and bounds

Yes, I've lost patience.

Why don't you stop playing patience and start playing poker? Much more fun!

Well, for the past 10 days I have lost and lost... we all have up's and downs...

Just keep playing the game you know that is right, and it will turn... Promise... It did for me...

I think when you lose alot, you get scared of playing... worrying about your bankroll... and then you WILL lose...

Have to keep being fearless, and then maybe lower the buyins...

backing horses they say be selective and not just have a bet in every race for the sake of it, same goes for poker I reckon. be selective.

I find every now and then I just need a few days break from poker. I know when I'm ready to play and when I'm not.

yeah cheers mick, thats what im thinking you get in a rut, bit like a comp game you get stuck on for days, leave it then go back few days later i seem to do it first time (strange comparison i know) well going out tommorow but to play poker still bit diff anyway!

never thought about physical health helping poker play - do many of the pros look as if they spend much time in the gym ?

mind you all those hotels on the pro circuit must have gyms and some must use them ......... might start playing on the laptop whilst on the jogging machine downstairs !

That would entail getting out of bed dear.
But if you did, could you do the cooking at the same time?

Jeez - where to start.

Rule No.1
When you start to throw your chips or cash away. STOP PLAYING!

You know when that is, and thats when you start paying to see flops and try to justify to yourself why you did it.

For example, earlier in an STT you had AKo in late position and raised it 5xBB, and the muppet opposite called your raise with Q7o and hit trip 7's on the river despite you flopping a King.

So, you see Q7o and decide to play the way he did - even though you know you should fold. When you lose you blame the poker gods, not yourself.

Poker is an easy game - when you're winning. When you aren't winning it can be one of the toughest mental strains you will face outside of work.

Obviously if you are finding playing more than one MTT too demanding, you will have to choose which one you're gonna concentrate on.

The only other thing I can suggest is to sit-out for a while, until you feel able to concentrate, or put some music on which helps you to do this.
