Default InsidePoker and BlueSquare future GUKPT freerolls information

Dear all,

I'd like to confirm that from today all Poker Player and Inside Poker player GUKPT freerolls will be exclusive to players located in the UK and ROI. Unfortunately we did not specify this last night so cannot withhold the first prize on this occasion.

We are not able to exclude players from further afield playing if they get the password - but we can stop them claiming a prize and will specify eligibilty in the lobby on future occasions (we will update this for Thursday's Poker Player freeroll shortly).

Hopefully this will stop non-subscribers from overseas from playing, but please email me directly if you have any concerns

And from Alun Bowden the editor of IP:

I'd like to apologise for the lack of eligibility this time around, and I think we have to hold our hands up and take some responsibility for the miscommunication that allowed this to occur.

But this should not be an issue going forward, and we've put a system in place with blue square to keep these superb value freerolls for readers only.

This should be the first and last time one of our Portuguese 'friends' wins anything from these freerolls.

We appreciate you guys keeping an eye on these issues for us, and rest assured when there are problems we will always do our best to fix them.

These GUKPT freerolls have been a big success, we've already given away 11 seats to what is easily the best poker tournament series in the UK, and I hope this doesn't sour your experience of playing in them.

Cheers
Alun

Hard one to call. If it was just you and other people like you who the rule was aimed at then I'd have no objection to you being a valid player, but the rule is there to stop hordes of "freeroll specialists" who grab the password from some website and are not a magazine subscriber and never will be. So you suffer for the carpetbaggers . Maybe the way round it, (if the freerolls are truly aimed at subscribers rather than anyone who just reads the magazine is for the prizes to only be distributed on the orders of the magazine when an email is received with the subscriber id and a name that comes close to the subscriber name with that on BlueSq. This would still allow (for example) married couples to both enter whilst weeding out the non-subscribers. Problem is it means more work for the magazine staff. That or a series of valid entry passwords on a use once then it's invalid basis (like the Walkers Crisp offer).

Maybe an option to get round it.If you have any relatives still living in the UK ,register your account at their address.
