Well they could have at least had someone going in with trip 4's and maybe a 72o to make it really interesting.

It had to be a fake.

Surely no self respecting poker site would have a carpet like that as the background???????

dissertation: noun

A lengthy, formal treatise, especially one written by a candidate for the doctoral degree at a university; a thesis.

In other words, very very long essay imposed by a university (mine was 130,000 words and that was only an undergraduate one!!. And my God was it hell to write!!!)

Good luck with it Lemon!

I know this kind of thing is HIGHLY unlikely, but even so, it's still possible - infact more possibly than many other things that will happen in poker...guesswest said it's probably never happened in the history of poker - I guess it has more than once.

if the above aituation did occur it would most probably be the most unlikely event that has ever happened short of the big bang.
considering that except for the queens it could ONLY occur with those starting hands so you can start off with:
1/52*1/51*1/50*1/49*1/48*1/47*1/46*2/45 ish (i'm not great at math or probabilities if i'm wrong i'm wrong)
then the board cards
1/44*1/43*1/42*1/41*2/40
then add in personal probabilities like the chance of the 8/9 calling whatever raises had come previously, possibly none if slow played so you might choose to ignore it.
anyone got a calc to do it?
i work it out as 15/3954242643911239680000

The so called probabilities don't matter mate - it's still possible.

If you take into account the number of hands dealt online, even with the odds you quote - it's possible that it would happen in our lives.

probability of winning the lottery is roughly
1/14500000
probability of winning the lottery twice
1/(14500000)^2
=
1/210250000000000
probability of winning the lottery 3 times
1/(14500000)^3
=
1/3048625000000000000000
=
3.2801672x10^-22

15/3954242643911239680000
=
3.7933939x10^-21

so, this is slightly more likely to happen than a sinlg e person winning the lottery 3 times in their life, but not by much
until someone wins twice, i'm sticking this one in the> will never happen in the history of the human species

Think your numbers are a bit big, Masterplan.

The probability of "this" happening depends on exactly what you mean by
"this".

For:

* QJ10 suited on the board
* one of those paired on the board
* the other board card is a nine or lower
* one hand has the royal flush
* one hand has the 8-Q straight flush
* one hand has quads
* one hand has high full house,

I make the probability a little under one in 60,000,000,000 on a 10-player
table. I don't know if anybody has a good estimate of how many hands of
Holdem have been played in the history of poker, but I wouldn't be
surprised if it was in the region of 60,000,000,000.
