Default Dream team 3 badbeat/betfair

This kicks off 10/12.

BadBeat & Betfair Poker are pleased to announce Dream Team III

BadBeat & Betfair Poker are yet again pleased to announce the Dream Team for the third time; thanks to all who took part in Dream Team I & II.

We have decided to spice up the dream Team this time and offer a variety of different tournaments each week; after all it is meant to be a fun event with a serious prize! The standard NL Hold'em Freezeout will be the structure for the majority however, we will include some Deep Stacks, Rebuys, Pot Limit, Omaha and some DOUBLE points weeks!

The general buy-in will be $25 + $25 (+ $2.50 Fee) with $25 going into that night's prize pool and $25 going into the collected prize fund. We will have four Deep Stack Tournaments where the buy-in will be $50 + $50 (+$5) with $50 going to the prize pool and $50 going to the prize fund and we will have four rebuy tournaments where the buy-in will be $25 + $25 (+ $2.50) with $25 going to that night's prize pool and $25 going into the prize fund plus 50% of rebuys and add-ons going to the prize pool and 50% going into the prize fund.

Click here to see the full Tournament Schedule.

The Dream Team Tournament will start at 19:45 GMT each week and will be called "BadBeat Dream Team".

This is what the prize fund will be paying for:
Teams will be playing for packages to the WSOPE 2008, and Betfair Poker have Guaranteed 6 packages (1 team package) to the WSOPE 2008 Main Event; therefore at least one team of 6 players will have the chance to follow in the footsteps of Betfair Sponsored Player and winner of the WSOPE 2007 Annette Obrestrad and BadBeat Sponsored Player and Runner Up of the WSOPE 2007 John Tabatabai.

Each individual package will be worth $22,200; this consists of £10,000 + £350 buy-in to the WSOPE 2008 and £750 expenses, therefore the team package is a total of $133,200 and not to mention possibly worth much more than one million dollars!

All additional prize money on top of the 6 packages ($133,200) will be awarded to the Final Table at the Live Final on Saturday 6th June 2008.

Both Annette and John have already got themselves a Dream Team so not only do you have the chance to follow in their footsteps you also have the chance to play against them every week for 32 weeks on-line and at the Live Final!

Added Money!

Dream Team Launch Added Prizes
The top 5 finishers in week 1 will all win entry into the Dream Package Grand Final that will have a guaranteed Prize Pool of no less than $100,000, taking place on Sunday 23rd December at 19.00 GMT.

The Top 2 finishers in this Grand Final will each win an astonishing Dream Package, worth $40,000 each, including $10,000 Buy-in into the 2008 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, $20,000 Buy-in into the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe in London, Flights & Accommodation in luxury hotels for both events, expenses for both events. It will also have $20,000 GTD in cash for the runners up reaching the final table. Not even Santa could manage to rustle all this from his sack. Good luck!

Quarter One Leaderboard Added Prizes
The team that is winning the Leaderboard after week 8 will get to send their top scoring player to a GUKPT £1,000 Main Event of their choice, on a 40/40/20% deal, 40% of winnings will go to the player and the same to BadBeat and 20% of the winnings will be split equally with the rest of the winning team. The package includes £1,000 + £50 buy-in to the Main Event and £250 expenses.

Quarter Two Leaderboard Added Prizes
The team that is winning the Dream Team Leaderboard after week 16 will all win entry into the following Fridays "Annette 15" $20K Guaranteed $200 Tournament that takes place at 19:30.

Quarter Three Leaderboard Added Prizes
The team that is winning the Dream Team Leaderboard after week 24 will all win entry into the following Fridays "Annette 15" $20K Guaranteed $200 Tournament that takes place at 19:30.

"Annette 15" $20K Guaranteed $200 Tournament
Every week there will be a bounty on Annette - take her out and you'll gain entry to Betfairs weekly $50k GTD. Each time Annette reaches the final table Betfair will add an extra $1,000 GTD to the prizepool the next time the tourney runs. And there's more! When Annette wins, her bounty in the next $20k becomes entry into a WSOPE 08 Final Qualifier worth $525.

Quarter Four Leaderboard Added Prizes
The team that is winning the Leaderboard after week 8 will get to send their top scoring player to a GUKPT £1,000 Main Event of their choice, on a 40/40/20% deal, 40% of winnings will go to the player and the same to BadBeat and 20% of the winnings will be split equally with the rest of the winning team. The package includes £1,000 + £50 buy-in to the Main Event and £250 expenses.

Points Structure
Each Team will be limited to a maximum (no minimum) of 8 members (including reserves) should all 8 players want to play in all 32 weeks they can do; however, only the top 4 will score points and only the top 100 will be awarded points, therefore if you get 6 players in the points, the top 4 finishing players points will be counted towards your teams accumulated points for that week.

Points will be awarded as follows:

Position Points
1st 7500
2nd 5000
3rd 3000
4th 2500
5th 2250
6th 2000

9th 1250
10th 1000

81st - 90th 40
91st - 100th 20

How to Register a Team?
To join a Dream Team you MUST be registered to badbeat as a Member if you are not already.

Click here to complete the registraion form.

Once you have got your team together your Team Captain must send an e-mail to info@badbeat.com with your team name choice and the Player name, betfair alias and e-mail address for each team member. Please note that it is important that you provide each players alias and not their username and that it is spelt exactly as it appears on Betfair to ensure that you receive your points each week. You will receive confirmation once your team is submitted.

Click here to view the Dream Team III Teams.

Live Final
Each team will be required to submit 6 (maximum - no minimum) members to the Live Final (venue yet to be confirmed, although it will be in the UK), each member will be guaranteed to start with $2,000 chips, all points the team accumulate over the 32 weeks will be divided by 6 (if you enter less than 6 you will not get more chips per player) and these points will be added as chips to each team player, therefore the more points your team accumulate over the weeks the more chips you will start with at the live final. The top 4 only will score points at the live final. The points at the Live Final will be awarded on a point per position structure, therefore if there are 150 runners 1st will get 150 points and last will get 1 point.

The team to win the Live Final will not necessarily be the winner of the tournament, it will be the team to have collected the most points from their top 4 finishing players.

There will be a fee of £25 per player for the Live Final which you will be expected to pay an arrival, only players playing in the tournament will be expected to pay this fee, guests will be able to attend free of charge.

Click here to see the full Tournament Schedule and Leaderboard.

Please note that due to the special payout structure of this these tournaments, it may take up to 24 hours for your account to be credited with any winnings.

Deffo m8 played in the 1st unfortunately at tle the live final only me and another team member turned up (captain and vice and the rest didnt come)and that left us to much to do.You got to have minimum 4 realistically to get anywhere 6 is better.

There is a way around this rosco if all the team agreed for example

6 players

a,b,c,d,e,f

Week 1-abcd
2-bcde
3-cdef etc or some variant 5 players player a has a week off etc
with anyone who wanted to play the extras as they wished. As long as you played minimum 8 tournies you would be eligible for live final.

As i said would have to be agreed by team beforehand.

Well then thats 3 good start, 6 shouldn't be a problem come on lads sign in. Strider you seem clued up on this I was thinking the same we could have some kind of rota a team of 8 would make it even easier. So should we get the required number I nominate you to be team captain!
(Obviously seeing you play some decent poker helps!)

The one thing is the prize is guaranteed for 6 not 8 this can be worked obviously(winnings split etc) as long as sorted beforehand.

Happy to be captain or vice or take a backseat whichever suits the team best.

What game was that then ?

I agree something should be decided but not sure that's the best way to go. Top 4 in the top 100 score points so obviously we want as many people playing as possible each week and that system may discourage people playing some weeks when they aren't 'needed'. BTW, anyone know what sort of numbers to expect in each tourney? Will top 100 be easy or hard?

I think a better system may be to have people say weeks where they won't be able to play so everyone who can play will so we can try to keep the numbers as high as possible each week.

Agree this needs some thought the more games the better but I think that each player should be given a minimum amount he must play.

Obviously it would be in the best interests of us all to play as many as possible.

As to how many playing not sure but points will be easier to pick up in later weeks as some players will drop out once they have played the 8 games "needed for live final" if previous experience is anything to go by especially in the lower placed teams.

Agreed that its better that as many play as many as possible and if we can get a team thats willing great but at this stage willing and open to all suggestions.

Yes I currently play a lot of omaha low stakes mind you 0.10/0.20 and 0.25/0.50 and it is my favourite form of poker.

Is that the one where you get 4 cards?

I used to play a bit of Razz, and was OK at Omaha. Never played an Omaha tournament, so I'll be having a look at some soon.

I believe so Bill.

Still think we need at least 6 for this though so considering asking a couple of the lads on bsq league if they fancy playing what do you think?

Immrchip is a new member here and thinking of asking another player called scouse3465 if he fancies joining pl and us in this if all are okay with that?
