Let's start winning some money on WNBA. Currently I am on 8-0 run with medium-high bets and today I hope to make my record 9-0 with the following pick:

Phoenix Mercury (11-14) at San Antonio Silver Stars (11-14)
BETTING SPREAD: San Antonio -1.5 TOTAL: 162
Totally wrong betting odds here I think because Phoenix should be favored here. Let me explain why.
10 reasons why Phoenix should beat San Antonio today:
1) They lost 1st game 76-82 and now they are in must win situation to get advantage over SA in case of level wins amount at the end of the season
2) SA lost 6 of last 7 games
3) SA is missing 2 key players Anderson and Ely
4) SA does not have winning mentality because they used to be underdogs
5) According to Arizona Central Taylor participated in light drills Wednesday, while another injured Vodichkova played with Houston this night. So there is a chance that Phoenix will play full squad today against injury troubled Silver Stars.
6) Taurazi is in a superb form with yesterday 41 pts. And if all injuried will be available for today's game SA will have big troubles in defence with total Phoenix offense where 5 players can score in double digits.
7) All left games are must win games for Phoenix if they plan to reach playoffs, and they can't allow to lose points now.
8) Phoenix had won 8 of last 10 games against San Antonio.
9) SA Antonio have some kind of troubles in offense lately by scoring only 67.3 in last 6 games while Phoenix know how to defend when it is needed and I expect that SA would not score more than 75 points today.
10) Phoenix is 8-2-0 ATS with SA in last 10 games.

Welcome there mate . Personally , i think wnba is heck of a league to bet in terms of spreads . upests are more common than in NBA (Men's league) .

Both picks have low confidence but worth to try as for me

New York Liberty (5-20) at Charlotte Sting (8-18)
SportsBook Line: Charlotte -9.5 TOTAL: 144

There is no sense to write long write up for this WNBA game so I will be short.
NY have lost 9 of last games but they still are 60+ teams in offense with average in last 10 games of 67.2 points. And they have scored more than 60 points in 8 of last 10 games.
Charlotte are favored at home by 8.5 points against NY Liberty today. But stop... they have 6 points undergods one month ago in away game against NY Lyberty. And now this line have been changed by 15 points to Charlotte side... Have the signed Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant during this month.. No.. And last year Charlotte were favored by 4-4.5 points in their home game against NY and they have 1 lose 74-82 (OT) and 1 win 67-61.

In last 10 games they Charlotte is allowing 69.7 points in average so seems that NY has all chances to score at least their average 67-68 points. So they need to score about 77 points to cover 9 points. But their average in last 10 games in only 72.8 points, and their average scoring ability at home is only 75 points.

NY have allowed 81 points in last 10 games but Charlotte offense is not Connecticut, Seattle or Phoenix offense. With less offensive minded teams NY is allowing is allowing about 74-75 points. And more of that Charlotte is average only 65.5 with NY in last 10 games. So looks like Charlotte real strength is a bit overvalued here on both ends of the floor (defense and offense)

So, I expect much more closer game than sports betting companies thinks. The only problem is that NY team is not motivated today so I can't suggest you to bet medium-high bet today. Let's try medium-low bet on NY Liberty to win ATS today.

Washington Mystics (13-13) at Indiana Fever (16-9)
Betting Line: Indiana -6 TOTAL: 144

Indiana's average home totals are 74-65.5 while Washington total is 76.5-80. Indiana Fever known as under team especially at home but Washington is 17-9 in Over/Under this season and 9-1 when total is set in the range 140-149.5. I don't know what is the reason of such trend but looks like sportbooks expect defensive game from Washington when they play away but Mystics does not show any signs of good defence in such games.

H-2-H stats are difficult to analyze because there were 2 games played this season and Indiana won both 83-70 at home and 74-67 away. In those games Indiana played 8 quarters and in 6 quarters their average was 20 points while in left quarters they scored 6 and 31 points which I hold as something unreal in todays game. Washington also had one unreal quarter when they scored 8 points while in other 7 quarters their average was 18.4.

So maybe I am bit crazy to play over in Indiana home game but I will try to bet low stake on over with a hope that they would not repeat unreal quarters today.

Charlotte Sting (8-19) at Washington Mystics (14-13)
Sport Book Line: Washington -6.5 TOTAL: 154
Only 7 games left in regular season and Charlotte have 6 wins less that Washington. This game had to be a key game for Charlotte postseason hopes but they have experienced 2 unexpected losses to Minnesota and NY last night. And those losses have killed all their real chances to clinch a playoff spot. Their mentality should be broken today because there is no chance to win all left 7 games and expect that Washington will lose all 7 games starting from today's game.

Washington goes in complete different way. They won against Chicago at home 89-74 and won against Indiana away last night 74-67. And both wins were fully deserved because of great team chemistry and performance. By winning today they will clinch a play off spot and this is a great motivation sign as for me.


I already talked about Washington winning mentality at home and their average so I would repeat again all those thoughts. I expect the same or even better performance from Washington like they had with Chicago 3 days ago. I expect them to score 85+ points while Charlotte is scoring 77 points in average in last 8 games and Washington allows 76 at home.
So a final conclusion. I expect that Washington will continue their winning strike by trashing Charlotte today and getting an official playoff ticket.

Minnesota Lynx (9-17) at New York Liberty (6-20)

Minessota have 13-13 OVER/UNDER season record but they have not beat a total in last 5 games by hitting only 63.4 points in last 5 games. But the main reason of such low scoring is a opponents factor. They have played with Sacramento, Houston, Charlotte and Chicago. All those teams are defensive minded and had motivation in those games. Today Minnesota will play against not-motivated team which is in good form and like open-style game.

Minnesota is still have troubles in defence and allowing 82.4 points in 9 of last 10 games. NY allowed 70+ points in last 10 games so I think that this game should be more open and their first game which ended NY win 93-83 is a good sign to play over again while line is affected by poor Minnesota performance in last 5 games.

Bet on: OVER 150 (medium stakes)

Detroit Shock (18-7) at Sacramento Monarchs (16-11)
Sport Book Line: Sacramento -3 TOTAL: 141

Sacramento is home team and knows how to win against Detroit. And now they have a revenge factor after Wednesday loss 71-91 away. The only trouble I see here is that Sacramento should remember about their defence today and control boards because this is their only chance to win a game, but for some reason I think that they will get it in hard battle.

Houston Comets (15-12) at Phoenix Mercury (11-15)
Sports Book line: Phoenix -3.5 TOTAL: 159

This is a public game where public expects Phoenix revenge and their playoff chances resurrection. But there is rule in basketball that defence wins a game and in this match the only team which really know what word defence means is a Houston side which had 14 points difference in first match.

But this is probably a key game for Phoenix and I expect their leaders to be on top today. But talking about their chances to win a game it's difficult to say what to expect. I think that Phoenix will win but I am not so sure to bet on them today because Houston are also in must-win situation but they don't have that psychological pressing today.

What is a best bet for this game if you planning to watch this game on TV? Here is a hint from Sheryl Swoopes:

The moral of Charlotte players is down and I think there is no chance for them win at Washington.

I don't like to bet on such games where all is clear. Connecticut is a much better team and they have to win with 95% confidence but...

Read this quotes:

In one word they already finished their season by winning against Sacramento and now their main goal is to save their legs and give more time to bench players. And sure they have to stay on winning track to become regular season champions.

And that's true.. Liberty covered in 6 of their last 8 games and while scoring 70 pts during this short trend. Seems that they really have found their rythm and forgot about injured players (Hammon and Schumacher).
Looking into team h-2-h stats this season I think that NY is able to compete well with Connecticut if they would avoid dropdown in one quarter. They have size under boards and goot shooters in their team the only problem is that they don't have experience. From one side I want to try to play on Liberty handicap but it's very tricky because Connecticut is not a Charlotte or Minnesota and that good play may disappear today.
But what I like in this match it's a small bet on OVER149.5. Why? Look at 12 quarters played this season:

28 52 45 40 91-74
36 39 21 39 75-60

As for me 3 quarters when they scored 21, 28 and 52 have impact on average quarter norm and without those quarters we have average quarter total of 39.8. And looking into NY Liberty performance in last 8 games we can expect that today they will be capable to score at least 70 points while Connecticut is 21.5 per quarter in average with NY. So something like 83-71 is probable but anyway I don't recommend you to go with high stakes on this bet because everything may happen here.

Phoenix lost 4 close games in a row... and this losing streak probably killed their playoff hopes. But looks like that they still believe into their chances.

"The good news is that we have games left," coach Paul Westhead said. "We have to get on the road, get a win, and come back and see where we are."

"They're a good team," forward Kristen Rasmussen said. "We can't just say, 'Oh, they're an East Coast team.' We need to get back to what we should be doing."

"We just need to play our game, offensively and defensively," Rasmussen said. "That's when we're at our best."

So.. today they will met Chicago which had won only 2 games in July and their average losing spread is 10.0 points while the minimum spread they have lost is 5 points.

If I would be Phoenix player today I would avoid any close game and will do all my best to beat weakest WNBA team with big margin to get a confidence. I hope that Phoenix still have power in their hands, legs and as..ses to beat not motivated team.

Also I like under today because in first game when Phoenix won 90-77 (they had 24 points lead - one more reason to play Phoenix ATS) teams played one really big quarter when they scored 50 points, and in others 3 quarters average total was 39 points which leads to 156-160 overall total.
So let's try to play Phoenix once again, but I'll lower a little bit with my stake because women are women and men will never understand them. But I will try.. because Phoenix played really well in all lost games and they had -9.5 spread in their home game.
