| An incredible day batting from Jayawardene and Sangakkara. 471 run partnership! A record for any 3rd wicket partnership in test cricket and only 105 behind the highest ever, Mahanama & Jayasuriya's 576 v India in 97.

| They break the record with an absurd 624 run partnership! Jayawardene gets bowled 26 away from Brian Lara's individual record. South Africa must bat 2 more days to save the test match. |

| An incredible days test cricket in Colombo! This looks like a record that'll take some beating. Just couldn't see the old getting beaten but then it happens here. Mental.

| 1 more bet on this test match for me. 10pts South Africa's 2nd Inns Runs Under 345 Evs Stan James In their 1st innings South Africa only managed to make 169 so I can't be having them making double that number. They are now batting to try and save the match but they know batting for 2 days is unlikely. Sri Lanka have got lots of runs on the baord and I expect scoreboard pressure to play a major part in the SA 2nd innings. Sri Lanka have also got 3 top notch spinners in their ranks to take advantage of a pitch which will noe be starting to show wear and tear. If South Africa had their 1st choice batting line up in this match I'd say they had a chance but without Kallis and Smith they lack a guy who is going to dig in and bat for hours, and without that 345 is a long way off. South Africa begin day 4 on 42-0 needing another 303 to stop this bet winning and I can't see that happening. |

| Hopefully Boucher does the business for us this morning but I'm adding another bet for this morning too. 10pts A.Prince 2nd Inns Runs Over 93.5 5/6 Bet365 Captain Ashwell Prince goes into the final day on 60 not out. If South Africa are to have any chance of saving this test match then Prince will have to go beyond 100. He's looked comfortable in this innings and having faced 170 balls he'll be confident he can keep out whatever Sri Lanka throw at him. There's no new ball to come so I expect Prince to carry on scoring runs. |

| Yep, comfortable win for SL. Boucher made his performance but Ashwell Prince was out in the 1st over of the 5th day Not a great test match overall but hopefully we can hit back in the 2nd test which begins on Friday. |

| 2nd test at Colombo begins at 6am Friday morning. Team news is that Vaas is back for Sri Lanka and will replace Maharoof and Pollock returns for SA and will replace Andre Nel.
10pts Sri Lanka to beat South Africa 6/5 Betfred Sri Lanka absolutely battered South Africa in the 1st test of the series. In that record breaking 1st test South Africa spent almost 3 days in the field and with only 4 days recevery time from the last test that must take it's toll coming into this match. Sri Lanka are a much improved side in the last 12 months and under stand-in captain Mahela Jayawardene they have found a lot of confidence. They are playing their cricket with smiles on their faces and really seem to be enjoying it. They have a good batting lineup which is exceptional in the middle order. They also have a well balanced bowling attack, boosted by the return of Chaminda Vaas. He's such a canny bowler despite not being quick and he's accompanied in the seam department by the pacy Malinga and Fernando and then to go with those 3 there's the wily magician Murali who will love this pitch. He took 10 wickets in the 1st match so he has the SA batsmen where he wants them. South Africa, as I've said will be tired from that 1st match and if they lose the toss they may lose their spirits too. Pollock comes back for this match which will give their bowling a bit more fizz but their batting line-up still looks incredibly weak. While I'm more confident of SA taking 20 wickets this time around I'm not confident their batsmen can get the required runs to keep them in the match. Home advantage is a lot in test cricket these days as we've seen in the Eng vs Pakistan series recently and with the better side too I'm backing SL to take the match and the series here. As ever with test matches there are many sides market to study so I'll do that and come back with any bets. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Cheers matey I've looked at the side markets and came up with 3 bets. 10pts K.Sangakkara's Performance Pts 97&Over Bet365 Points are scored as follows: 1pt per run, 10pts per catch, 20pts per wicket. Sangakkara is probably Sri lanka's best batsman and coming from his double century in the last test he should be confident enough to carry on scoring runs. He's given up the wicket keeping duties so won't get so many points in the field but he averages 50 with the bat so 2 average innings sees us home and dry. 4pts J.Rudolph Top South African Bat 11/2 Skybet Having been 2nd top scorer and then top scorer in South Africa's 2 innings in the 1st test we get a great price on him repeating the 2nd inns feat here. The batting lineup hasn't been strengthened for this test either. Rudolph has had a good tour so far and I back it to continue with a top score here. 1pt ew C.Vaas Top Sri Lankan Bat 33/1 Boylesports (1/4 1,2,3) Having had such a great tour of England with the bat Chaminda Vaas has to be overpriced here. Ok with Sangakkara and Jawawardene around it's unlikely he'll top score but he could certainly come inside the top 3. After the 374 and 287 of the main 2 in the last test, despite Sri Lanka scoring over 750 the next top score was 45! Vaas can make that sort of score too and if the top order don't fire he can more than take advantage. Long shot maybe but we are getting a very good price on a guy who can actually bat. |

| South Africa batted 1st and were bowled out for 361 with the last ball of the day. 1 catch for Sangakkara. Rudolph made 40 which wasn't enough for him to bet top scorer A good 1st day for our bets though ![]() |
