The replay of the game I'm referring to is on FOX1 right now. It would cause players to have less grip in all their maneuvers, like accurate kicking, changing direction, etc. It was a little breezy on Sunday but the scoring at half time was 10.18 although shooting did straighten up (28.27) by the end but only due to a non competitive Essendon that allowed Sydney many soft second half goals goals.

| Yeah, definitely the kind of thing that could interfere with the game, though not sure how much it'd affect the totals. I seem to recall when Suncorp first re-opened that they had that kind of problems, with a lot of guys suffering knee injuries, including Hodges and Fitzgibbon. Will be quite interesting to see how the ground plays, and in particular, if theres any rain. For those betting on totals too it should be pointed out the only recognized kicker for NSW is Fitzgibbon who is on the bench. I imagine Wallace would kick, but gee they are asking a lot of him. Gasnier and Hayne capable but not better options, so thats something else to consider. Also thinking penalty goal might open things, in which case I would actually favour it to be NSW, as penalties mysterily seem to grativate to the home team.

Queensland -5.5 Queensland usually rise up for these games much more than NSW. They have the edge in the all important scrum half positions, so look to Thurston to be the difference here. They also have 6 Storm palyers which will mean a bit more cohesion in the side and i just like their backline which has a decisive edge over the Blues. Also Queensland has won four of the past five games

Nice analysis crouch. Hard to pick imo, Queensland are deserved fav's on paper, but of course- the game isin't played on paper, and NSW should put up some great fight. Just taking the Draw here, good luck fellas, and UP THE BLUES!!!!

Three bets for me tonight start of with- Total of under 36.5 as these games have a tendency to be low scoring and this should continue tonight with the weather poor also affecting my bet. New South Wales total under 17.5 just can see them scoring over 17.5 in such poor conditions and adding on to the fact that Queensland defence is very strong. Queensland to win by 1-12 points just think that this game will be tight and low scoring but Queensland just have that quality of players like thurstons, inglis etc to get them over the line. Goodluck all

Nothing to serious tonight because i'm not too confident either way lol. NSW and QLD penalty goal as first points - i'm pretty sure either team will take the 2, given the opportunity. NSW may hesitate though as their primary kicker is on the bench... NSW +3.5 - i had to put some sort of bet on them :P. NSW dominate the past results at ANZ and hopefully they can continue this, or at least not lose by 4 or more lol. Also, if it's a low scoring game as many are predicting, there shouldn't be too much variance in the scores. I was considering with going either team under 6.5, maybe that would have been a better decision. Draw at 80 mins - as i've been saying in the nrl threads, i'm doing this for all games...

Oh yeah, i've staked it so that i only need any 1 to break even/profit. Fitzgibbon will be starting now with Cross moving to the bench... This stengthens the penalty goal bets a bit now Last edited by brad89; 21-05-2008 at 09:25.
