WALES OPEN

Alex Noren 33/1 Various

A young Swede with a real talent for this game from what he has shown so far. Went well at Wentworth and with the new course being used for a tournament for the first time won't be at a disadvantage of others having had experience of playing here before.

THE MEMORIAL

Geoff Ogilvy 20/1 Various

I've had a fair old each way bet on the Aussie Ogilvy for this tournament. Finished 7th at The Colonial last week, and came 9th in this tournament last year. Ranks with Paul Casey as my favourite golfer after the Tiger, and he has earned me plenty winnings in the past. Given his recent form, his past form at this venue, and the fact I just like a punt on him, he was a must bet for me this week.

They're my 2 main bets for this weekend, but I am also having 16 x 50p each way doubles on the following

Geoff Ogilvy 20/1
KJ Choi 33/1
Jeff Quinney 50/1
Paul Casey 66/1

xxxxx

Bradley Dredge 25/1
Alex Noren 33/1
Mikko Ilonen 100/1
Marcel Siem 125/1

Wales Open

I agree that Alexander Noren is long overdue his Maiden Win,but I can,t help but think that for all he possesses in one of the best swings on tour,he has to learn to putt better.
As for Bradley Dredge I could have layed him on Betfair at the Irish Open going into Sunday, but as I watched Saturday,s coverage with sheer delight at his steady management of the course I decided he would go one better than last years defeat to Padraig Harrington,so decided to let my win bet run.I am still nursing a ton-50 sore one,but you can,t win them all.
Don,t know about Mikko this week but at 125/1 Marcel Siem could be value as E/W,he is certainly long enough off the tee.
My own money is going on Robert Karlsson, which might seem a bit of a hedgers bet but I think this fella could trouble westwood for the order of merit come September.
I heard with interest that the Par 5,s are out of reach "Quote from Oliver Wilson"!
This would bring the good wedge players into it so watch out for the big classy indian Jeev Milkha Singh.
Good luck and happy punting!

THE MEMORIAL

I took 70-1 on Zach Johnson, I know his putting isnt hot but 70-1 on a player who has as good iron player as him has to be worth a punt at this price.

Simon Khan @ 66-1

Good record at Celtic Manor, albeit on a different course but going to the same 'resort' should give him positive vibes. Had a good finish at Wentworth last week and can build on that here and kick start his season.

Oliver Fisher @ 55-1

Fisher returned to form last week at Wentworth after suffering a bit after he lost the play off to Thomas Levet a few weeks ago. Not suprising when he's only 19 that he'd take it hard but he's proved in the early part of the year what a wonderful talent he is.

Hi There!
Cheers for welcome, hope the info helps beat the "Badman",I watched the coverage today, have held back until seeing layout, but my own thoughts are that it is no coincidence some mediocre players on asian tour are performing well " ala Scott Strange",I think it boils down to speed and rawness of the greens.
The players are used to faster greens on tour,so I tipped Jeev Milkha Singh who has won seven times in Asia and at this point would be happy to punt him or Ross Fisher who plays so well in Asia,"14,s& 50,s@ Betfair".
I think Dyson and Jaidee have left themselves too much to do" +3 & Lev".

P.S Thank Goodness we didn,t lump Jimenez with that Dodgy Knee, more like he is still Hungover on Rioja from his 600k cheque last week.
Still,Happy Punting and Keep Mugging the "Badman"!

Interesting thoughts Stu, welcome to PL

Jeev's still up there, good luck mate.

I'm down to remote hopes regarding Ilonen and Siem in Wales, and while all 4 of my US hopes will play the weekend, I am pretty much relying on Geoff Ogilvy to deliver a profit [by winning], or reduce the loss [by placing].

Cool Re: Golf: 29/5-1/6 - Wales Open; The Memorial

Golf Wales Open

Big Jeev still hanging on,watched coverage today and hoping Man Mountain Karlsson can come through.
As for the leader Scott Strange I didn,t think he was up to this Grade of tournament yet, but he is an extremely calm player and would not discourage my fellow punters from backing him but not @ evs,if you wait till tommorow he will make the odd mistake, and if you could grab 7/4 or 2/1 I would consider it value on a course where there is a hatful of Birdie Chances and a Par 5 on 18 might throw the winning Birdie his way!
Happy Punting Maties!
