No, the song is not great, but hey, it's dj bobo...not like he's got a back catalouge of classics either. This does not mean that he won't win, a good song is not always, I might even say not very often, needed.

I think you should watch it this time...class and Eurovision don't mix.

Thats an understatement...anyone remember Guido aus Deutschland - damn he was a freak show...with the song "Guido hat euch lieb"...unforgettable - even Meatloaf could be an Calvin Klein model, compared to that guy....

And last years bandy team from Finland - monsters from Helsiniki...i think they even won ....

Cant remember any more patients from the Eurovision, but those few really showed "class"....but some country did had an Ru Paul copycat...

PS: knew that G:G was being sarcastic on DJ Bobo subject, i mean guy had like 10 songs, and they all sound identical to me...he just changes a lyrics a bit.

i have heard mostly all songs and have to say that this year is a lot of shity songs
my favs are sweden...really interesting song, happy one, everyone likes happy things
hunguary...this song is unique...probably top 3...excelent music,voice performance
i dont like dj bobo cause this is coping of topic from the last years winner ( something like dark side lol)
i like and bulgarian...also unique song,very interesting

so mine 3 choices are; hungary, sweden and bulgarian song

i think that easy songs( balades) dont work on this eurovision....remember last year irish song...excellent song and didnt work

what do u guys think aboit my choice??

I don't mind Moldova. I don't think it will win but I wouldn't be surprised to see it get a top 6 spot, the start and end have very good energy, but the middle part of the song is crap.

Danzing is a quinessential Eurovision song and performance. What that means for how it goes I don't know, but IMO it's Eurovision down to a tee.

As for Denmark, weird artist, but if Dana International won...

Agree on that the Eurovision is more political than ever.. Certain countries vote on certain countries no matter how "bad" their song is.. Last year was quite an exception because of the difference in the group, this year the voting should be "back to basics" again.. I've listened trough all the songs and it's quite obvious that most of the songs lack somekind of edge or unifying quality.. Don't think that Sweden will win or neither Schweiz.

At the risk of being laughed at, my tip for the winner is Ukraine. The lead singer is wearing women's clothes, sings some words in german and has got a funny melody that' catching.. And I think that Ukraine is gonna get votes from many east-european countries, so they will be a strong contender so they will get my bet!!

Cheers

Default Re: Eurovision 2007 - May 12 (Final)

Here's my take on this years hopefuls

Albania - Called “hear my plea” - hear mine stop singing

Andorran - Andorran McFly/Busted - I liked it actually but I usually like Iceland last few years and they didn't even make the finals

Armenia - Average stuff – sad moody blokey

Belarus - Soft rock scary dancer ladies

Belgium - 70's Starsky get down and boogie..not for me

Bosnia - Build build build to a big finish ballad

Bulgaria - Might look good with right staging? But just not a song

Croatia - Dross

Cyprus - Average rock

Czech - More pants rock

Denmark - Wohh gotta be a trannie – yup it is… song about a drama queen….maybe a dark horse

Estonia - Partners in crime…criminal song I'll give them that

Finland - Fins do like their rock don’t they …not winning this year

France - Just taking the piss - French version of Father Ted's My Lovely horse

Macedonia - Ohh the traditional lah lah lah start…oo yummy leggy babe… So So song…just like to say legs again...LEGS !

Georgia - Yawn

Germany - A Jerry Sinatra? ..Vee haf vays of making this crap….Just does nich work..

Greece - tried and tested intro….Greece wiil be challenging again

Hungary - blues number..alright but prob not gimmicky enough

Iceland - Yet more rockers..dull though

Ireland - Short of a leprechaun costume and a pint of guiness for the Dana-a-like it couldn't be more Irish….it'll beat us though

Israel - WTF ! You Gotta be kidding …BUT could possibly win it…here's your gimmick song..(well until I got to Ukraine)

Latvia - Flippin heck the men in top hats just keep on coming on 4 ..5 ..6

Lithuania - Too bored to find something amusing here

Malta - Another traditional intro..Ooo big wuman

Moldova Violins - tastier bird - OK - pretty much what you expect from Eurovision - top half

Montenegro - Same as Moldova but with a bloke

Netherlands - Yawn

Norway - Why do the words mutton and lamb come to mind…OK top half

Poland - Guy/Girl Rappers probably get points somewhere top half

Portugal - Got my hopes up when I saw name Sabrina…naa load of pants

Romania - Man fights a guitar….did they write this in their lunch hour..and still have 50minutes spare

Russia - Oo yummy 3 of 'em..doesn't really get out of 3 gear though

Serbia - Well it's a woman's name so you have to assume she is - touch and go though

Slovenia - Major operatic warbling alert

Spain - Boy band…who knows ladies might like em

Sweden - Ohh yes my Fave…70's glam rip off (Edison Lighthouse/Mud and a few more.. good stuff …potential winner

Switz - Ohh is it star wars?...nope DJ Bobos vampire song..could have a good stage show probably a big busy production. Again maybe a winner, catchy too

Turkey - Maybe I've flipped but I'm gonna say 3 in a row now with potential for top 10

Ukraine - F' ME! Now that's my winner now ( I think I have flipped you know) I'm backing this mental Ukrainian Dame Edna with my own money

Uk - Gotta do better this year…Steps - major campness….won me money in the qualifiers but everyone hates UK so not backable

At the moment it's UKRAINE for me at about 12-1 Superb E/W for the top 4

edited to say Ukraine rehearsal a bit shambolic and of some my fancies not sounding quite so good live as in promo videos. Swiss and Belarus butcome the night who knows maybe they're holding back. Swedes a decent E/W but I've got my cash down now on the little Troll woman from Serbia 8-1 (Great live voice, well positioned for the political vote and nice song among all the Lordi rock wannabes ) I've taken this E/W and am pretty sure I have a bet to nothing here as I can't see it finishing outside the top 4. Nice price if it wins.

Seen that Billy Hills have put up "nil point" for the UK at 16/1. As everyone hates (we don't care) what are the chances of us getting nothing at all??

For the semi I've taken Serbia to win @ 4.00 and Switzerland to place @ 3.25 (both centrebet). For the overall I've taken Ukraine, currently available at Betfair on 10s.

Denmark 2.37 to qualify for the final!

I think that's a pretty good bet, some guy dressed up in womens clothes basically, but got some voice on him/her.

Can see him getting the gay votes etc too.

2.37 @ VCBet seems way too big imo.

Semi Qualifiers

Bulgaria,Hungary,Slovenia,Latvia, Serbia, Turkey,Macedonia, Belarus,Georgia, Moldova

An Eastern Europe carve up - all the better for my Ukraine and Serbia punts...both been brought in along with Belarus.
Bad news for Sweden backers probably get swamped with about 2/3rds of the voting countries now in the two Eastern blocks....wouldn't look beyond these regions for your winner.

If you're joining us late - where have you been ? Our 2 v the field have been heavily backed. The 12's the 10's on Ukrainian Nutter Verka have long gone and Ukraine are best available at 10/3. The little SerbianTroll lady's 8's have reduced to is 11/2 with the only other country not available in double digits Belarus best 15/2.
Personally I don't think Belarus can win and I'm happy that my 2 early choices will battle it out and land the money.

France to finish last my only interest @ 9.0 Bet 365

Not many friends in Europe, poor song by all accounts and not a good draw.

Other possibles for last place UK, Ireland, Lithuania or Spain but I reckon the value is with the French.
