| Lads, about these non runners. the rules are in the "dhrc rules" thread funnily enough but I`ll quickly clarify it for you.Basically, you are allowed to change any of your selections, whether due to non runners or purely a change of mind. However, to prevent the threads getting messy and due to events in the past that`ve highlighted grey areas within the rules, we ask this, please make a whole new post with all of your new selections and any reserves, a note at the top of the post saying "repost etc" is helpful too. Putting just replacement horses in different posts has been going on and we`ve turned a blind eye to it but it`s a pain in the arse for admin when it comes to settling up. So can I ask we stick to that format from now on please. Thank you all for your co-operation any more questions ?

| I always thought you couldnt add to previous posts once one of your selections had ran? Adding selections and reposts was for abandoned meetings or if you had NR's and ran out of reserves as long as the bet hadnt started. We do allow 3 reserves dont forget. Dont mind but its happened to me before and didnt repost in the past, think we need to clarify this one way or tother.

| I think you`re right about the "can`t change after the first runner" rule if we took it to the letter, Billy. but I think that`s another area we`ve shown a bit of discretion to give everybody a chance. So yes, it may be time to review it.

| Ian, DBDF, One last word on the ruling; I think if you review this rule and allow 'discretion' then you are leading us up a very dangerous path in my opinion. I agree that anyone can change a post for any reason at anytime but we must keep the ruling of 'it must be before any other selection has run' My reasons are this; If say we have two tipsters battling it out either in the Cup or in an important league position (Tiltle,Promotion,Relegation). Player A gets a loser, Player B gets a 5/1 winner and then a 4/1 winner, Player A realises he needs 10pts to win and his last selection is only 6/1 in the betting. He will just change it for another race or horse at bigger odds. I know this is an extreme example but if we had allowed a change previously by 'discretion' then how could we disallow it in this instance. The answer is we couldnt. I'm all for giving everyone the best possible chance to post selections but some rules just have to be rigid where others dont. I mean if someone puts wrong time or meeting then theres no problem with things like that. Thats just my opinion, maybe others will disagree. Not sure what DBDF's angle on this is from his short reply. I think the rule is fine and clear in its meaning and should stay that way. If people dont post reserves then i'm afraid they will be affected by NR's at some time, its their choice. Anyone else have a view, its your competition........................
