Important Notice regarding the DHRC

For those of you who are not aware the DHRC began back in February 2004, since then the competition has seen many new players come and go and through this time few changes have been made to the format such was its success. In fact the only major changes were the need to increase the number of divisions as the competition grew.

The moderators decision on when to create a new division is not taken lightly and will only get the go ahead after lengthy discussions have taken place, the last thing we want is to have a division with half a dozen players in it, we have to be sure its going to be competative.

Recently some members and moderators have asked about the introduction of a Division 4 and after consulting with the Mods and especially Frisky who keeps us informed on the participation levels of the present Division 3 it has been decided to go ahead with the new division.

DIVISION 4

This will commence at the beginning of May, this will mean Division 3 will be reduced to 10 players. To do this it will mean that the April competition will become a play off to see who stays in Div 3 and who will form part of the new Div 4.

Players who finish in the top three will be promoted into Division 2 as per normal, those who finish from 4th down to 10th will stay in Div 3 along with the three relegated from Div 2, leaving us 10 players.
Players who finish in 11th spot and worse will form the new division and it will not carry a monthly prize at this stage.

Monthly Prize Money

£40 Division One
£15 Division Two
£10 Division Three
£10 Top Scorer Award for the Quarter (best individual score on any day)
£15 Cup Winner


The Admin duties have yet to be decided for the new division, details of this will be sorted out in the near future.

CUP COMPETITION

Aliando has let it be known that due to his workload especially at weekends that it may be wise to seek another Admin to run the monthly Cup competition, as you know this will mean starting the main thread with dates on when the competition will take place plus publishing the tables of results and draws for the following rounds, if anyone would like to have a go and can be available on Friday and Saturday evenings then let us know in this thread or by PM to any of the Moderators.

Could £5 not be taken off Div1 and be the prize for Div 4?

It wasnt due to lack of funds that we decided not to give a prize to the new division. It was given careful consideration and we wanted new members to sign up for the competition without the lure of any cash prize, we want players to stay for the long haul and work there way up the divisions and in doing so will get the rewards.

Its something we tried in the TC and we still get many new players, the thinking of Punters Lounge in general is to get away from too many cash incentives, its not what the PL is about. If people drop out because of it then its obviously not the place for them. If we ever get a Division 5 then a prize will be given for Div 4 no doubt.

This Division 3 is hotting up close at the top with regards to promotion and im down the bottom looking for as many points possible am i right in believing april in division 3 will be the month where the bottom 11 get relegated to form the new division?

Yes mate, you have another month to qualify for Div 3 or slip to the basement.

To answer your question, all players can qualify for the cup as normal.
