Daily Horse Racing Competition Cup Rules



General
The competition will run over each calendar month.

New players must join the Daily Horse Racing Competition before or during the qualifying round in order to take part.

Players are not obliged to post every day of the cup but obviously this will give your opponent an advantage.


Selections
Selections are limited to British racing only. No Irish, French or Virtual meetings are allowed.

The Cup dates will be confirmed at the start of each month and matches will normally be played on a Friday and Saturday unless stated.

The selections used for the Daily Horse Racing will be used for the Cup matches also.

More than 1 selection from the same race is allowed.

Selections must be accompanied with timeand meeting and be posted at least 10 minutes prior to race of thefirst selection. The player should also indicate what division he is in.

Editing of posts is not allowed.

Selections can be replaced, but as editing is not allowed, it is required that all new selections are made again in a brand new post within that days thread. A new post can only be made before there have been any runners (including any reserves) in the initial post. The new post will supercede the earlier one and will also still be subject to the 10 minute rule.

If a player knows he is unable to post on a certain day/s, it is acceptable to leave clear instructions to cover the absent days.




Replays

Should a qualifying round result in a tie then alphabetical order will determine the order if in the top 16. Should there be a tie to determine who goes through to the first round and who gets knocked out, then there will be a replay on the first next available day that UK racing is being held.

Similarly, should a match result in a tie in any of the rounds then there will be a replay on the first next available day that UK racing is being held.

All matches will continue with replays, following each day, until a winner is established


Scoring

..is the same as the league -

In all races of up to 4 runners - only the winner scores
In all races of 5, 6 or 7 runners - the first two score
In all races of 8 to 15 runners - the first three score
In non-handicaps of 16 or more runners - the first 3 score
In handicaps of 16 or more runners - the first four score

The scoring is based on SP and the position in which the horse finishes. The formula is SP/finishing position therefore,
10/1 winner = 10 points
10/1 2^nd = 5 points
10/1 3^rd = 3.33 points
10/1 4^th = 2.5 points


In the event of a dead heat;
DH for 1^st & 2^nd ,selection priced @ 10/1 for instance
0.5 x 10 (winning score) = 5 points and
0.5 x 5 (runner up score) = 2.5 points
therefore the dead heated selection would score 7.5 points.

Should anyone notice any mistakes/wrongs scores etc, these need to be highlighted BEFORE the next round of the cup begins - after this, no changes will be made.


Please Note: At any stage of the competition, you may PM your selections to myself and any of the DHRC mods - this is especially advisable during the latter stages (its worth sending them to more than one of us incase one of us is away/unable to get computer access etc).

i normally work out the results as i go with the cup, but i have been known to make errors on a weekly occurence , so it wont hurt to add that the selections are for the cup - dont worry if you forget/not realise its cup day as its not a life or death thing, and, for the qualifying rounds, everybody is in the cup automatically

Just a small query for the Mods.
as if you haven't got enough to do
very sorry


Today by accident i typed my first selection in
and then typed it in again as my second selection
so i had the same horse as my first and second choice

made me think..............

what if one day I only fancy one horse
and that has happened before
would I/We be allowed to do that or not ?
i don't know if anybody has done this or even thought about doing this.

just wondered

one horse = one selection, so if you put the same horse down twice, it'd be considered as one selection, meaning you've missed the opportunity to pick a second horse

Your reserves are posted in order so the first one posted becomes the first reserve, second one posted is the second reserve and so on..

please note a new change for the rules will come into effect as of Jan 1st.

Selections must clearly state the name, the meeting and time of race for each horse. Unfotunately, due to increasing work for the admin team, systems will no longer be accepted - each horse must be named.

If a player knows he is unable to post on a certain day(s), a player may post up the chosen horses in advance. This can be done by starting (or adding to) daily threads where selections should be left in each thread. As per daily threads, horse and meetings (with time of race) must be named.

It is permissable for others to post appropriate named horses on behalf of a competitor - by arrangement - if they know they are going to be away awhile. If you choose to do this, please PM the details to your divisional admin.

Only the one mate,

Multi-regging isnt allowed and would result in dis-qualification. As there are cash prizes on offer for the top leagues then this would be viewed as cheating and most likely result in a permanent ban too

As i am new to the comp i have a question on the Cup comp not sure if this is the correct thread but the question is i have qualified for the second round of the cup and am i right in thinking that the selections i put for next Saturday & Sunday are my cup selections?

No mate - Its next FRIDAY and Saturday

Qualifying : 2nd/3rd (Fri/Sat)
1st Round : 9th/10th (Fri/Sat)
2nd Round : 16th/17th (Fri/Sat)
Semi Finals : 23rd/24th (Fri/Sat)
Final : 30th/31st (Fri/Sat)
