ReasoningCould be in the handicappers grip but could also be excuses for recent placed efforts, ran ok at Southwell but prefers Lingfield and Wolverhampton. Was 3rd just 3 days ago, seemed to lack pace but that was over 1m and the horse seems better over further than that but must have ew chance off same mark on a surface that suits.

NANS JOY (0.5pts EW)
3.40 Wolverhampton
RPF 5/1
11 runners go to post here with many in form, but few proven in this class. The selection is Nans Joy, still a maiden but ran very well lto in a Cl 4 handicap when just failing to reel in the winner. Todays race is in Cl 5 company. Beaten 2 starts ago by Convivial Spirit, and reopposes today. The fact that the trainer turns out this horse only 3 days since last run indicates it's clearly in good heart and is expected to run well here. Also fancy the forecast and tricast here, suggest Nans Joy / Convivial Spirit / Cherri Fosfate

4.00LudlowTighe Caster4.00won 1st time up at huntingdon then ran creditably at Kempton. Will love the faster ground & trainer has kept the horse away from the poor ground it obviously hates. Goes well fresh.Win

230 Ludlow : Wotchalike

Dropped to a seller for the first time and should beat these, 7th to Trompette in a decent handicap, looks a class above what his rivals have achieved and a recent run on the flat to sharpen him up will help also. 1pt Win please.

Hi

I fancy Conrads 2.10 at Wolverhampton, running in handicaps and now done to claimers with arguably the best amateur on board, was running at 7f till upped to a mile last time out and finished a good 3rd at Southwell in a £5000 handicapp, great ew bet as around 7.1 on betfair. 0.5 ew.
best wishes

4.00 Ludlow: REHEARSAL (nap)
Ran out an impressive winner on his chasing debut on fast ground and with conditions favouring him again he is taken to follow up.

4.00 Ludlow - High Calibre

Carl's right about Rehersal, but I think High Calibre has better chances. I know the horse likes soft ground, but I doubt Jonjo would have taken it to Ludlow if he didnt think it would handle the trip. AP is on board so that means we have one of the best jockeys riding. And there is a great low weight mark so the horse should be virtually flying and if he stays on this further distance he will win it.

1pt WIN

3.40 Wolvs - Hollywood george e/w rpf 6/1
Nice little record round here, lightly raced has a good draw in stall 1, Kevin Ryan/Neil Callan team in fine form should give a good account in a competitive race.

17:30 LUDLOW Sunday City 0.5pts E/W

Just have a sneaky feeling Sunday City would do well today. Has been running well on right-handed tracks like this one and the only contender seems to be Princelet which i believe will not respond well to first-time blinkers. Worth an e/w bet.

3.30 Ludlow My Immortal win. For me it is the class horse in the field and despite slight stamina doubts I believe the better ground will see it home and I believe it is a class above its opponents.

4.30 - Ludlow - So Cloudy. 1PT Win.
Todays distance should help the horse and the ground is also in the horses favour.

5.30 Ludlow, Norma Hill, 0.5 pts EW

Has an excellent chance for the win here at a cracking price. 8 runner race so I'm going each way with Betfair in case of a non runner. Was outclassed at Musselburgh last time after a long break, and if we assume he wanted that run to get in the mood then he has ideal conditions today. Small field, right handed, firm going, 2/3 at Ludlow and one of those wins was under todays jockey. This should be nice little earner.

PROPER 3.40 Wolverhampton.

Been watching last time's run, and nobody with sight and a working brain couldn't say he wasn't unlucky not to finish a lot closer than he did. Has the bare form to certainly be competitive in context with this race and with racing off an attractive mark today, and granted he gets a clear passage through, he should be bang there at the end. Never run here at Wolverhampton, but should be fine ( still has to prove it ) as of handling Lingfield's polytrack o.k last time, and with the trip being fine there's no real reason to suspect he won't run to his ability. Chris Catlin on board, who I like as a jockey as he reminds me a lot of Kieran Fallon. Maybe not the knowledge of race reading like Fallon ( learning all the time though ), but certainly the strength and style and I have no problems with him. So all in all he looks a fair bet at the odds on offer and let's hope he gets me off the mark in this comp. I certainly need it!

0.5 pts e/w

Good luck one and all.

Sorry its a bit late, got a shorty price fav for today...

17:00 - Ludlow - Red Brook Lad WIN
  • One of only 2 C&D winners
  • Won previously over Distance and Going off of around and obove todays wieght
  • 13 days LTO and Recent 2 Places over Distance and going (1 over the course) suggest good fittness
  • High class Hunters Chase performer
  • Beaten by Viscount Banker recently, but reports of not at his best, the selection claims only 3 extra pounds since while VB is up at least 7lb and can turn that around today.
  • one of only 2 to finish 1st/2nd LTO, one of 3 with 1st/2nds this year
  • Jockey experianced with this charge
  • The market suggests RBL is a good degree stronger than the main rival this time around
  • Miles ahead of the field on official rating, and Top Speed suggests an easy run if anything near its best
  • COurse Record: 2, UR, 1, 1. Not bad ignoring the time the jockey couldn't hold on...
Really do fancy this one to turn its form against the main opponent VB today....

3RD - Despite the non runners Betfair has paid for the place so a profit was made. Up til the final furlong looked like Norma Hill had it in the bag. - and if I was sharper I could have laid it off at 1.14, but did I?....
